* Weekend 1st Shift: Friday-Sunday, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Job Summary:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer serves as a technical and operational leader responsible for driving manufacturing performance, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives across production operations. This role balances hands-on floor leadership with strategic engineering work, ensuring manufacturability, quality, safety, and efficiency. The engineer will collaborate cross-functionally with design, production, and quality teams to improve processes, support new product introduction, and evaluate new manufacturing technologies.
Job Responsibilities:
* Supporting advanced magnet builds in a highly hands-on manufacturing environment
* Make real-time production decisions within established guardrails and escalate when necessary
* Provide hands-on leadership on the manufacturing floor
* Ensure alignment between production goals, safety standards, and quality requirements
* Guide teams through complex or ambiguous production issues
* Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to reduce cost and increase efficiency
* Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
* Conduct time and motion studies to optimize labor utilization and production flow
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the facility
* Design, specify, and support procurement of tools, fixtures, and equipment
* Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions
* Troubleshoot complex equipment and process issues and implement corrective actions
* Ensure manufacturability of new product designs in collaboration with R&D and design teams
* Develop and maintain work instructions, SOPs, and process flow documentation
* Utilize ERP and CAD systems (NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent)
* Support compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
* Partner with product design and development teams for new product introduction
* Work closely with quality, production, and engineering teams
* Influence without direct authority across multiple functions
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
* 7+ years of experience in manufacturing or production engineering
* Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality systems
* Proficiency with CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent)
* Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards that may include heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, and cryogenics
* Experience with manufacturing ERP systems
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
* Ability to balance autonomy with structured escalation
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
* Willingness to work required night/weekend/on-call shifts
* US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC)
* Experience with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
* Experience in high-complexity or high-mix manufacturing environments
