About the role:The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer provides the daily support of production floor operations to ensure products, processes, material, and equipment meet business goals and objectives regarding safety, quality, service, and cost). This role leads projects to drive new product integration and continuous improvement initiatives, while partnering with cross-functional and cross-site teams to evaluate, troubleshoot and implement manufacturing processes, while demonstrating our commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
Your responsibilities will include: - Coordinating and leading cross-functional project teams: communicate and document project goals and progress
- Training technicians, product builders and engineering teams on key tasks; provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members to support their development
- Supporting technicians with troubleshooting complex technical issues during production
- Applying continuous improvement tools to identify, assess, and recommend enhancements to processes and products.
- Assessing the feasibility of new technologies, products, and equipment complete and manage Capital Equipment Request Authorizations (CERA's) for projects/initiatives as needed
- Designing and coordinating applicable engineering tests and experiments; collect, analyze, and summarize data to interpret and report findings to peers and leadership
Required qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in engineering with at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing or related environment
- Experience managing and leading multiple projects simultaneously
- Practical understanding of manufacturing problem solving and process improvement tools such as DMAIC and production flow tools such as LEAN manufacturing with the ability to solve advanced technical problems
Preferred qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Materials Science or Chemical)
- Experience working in the medical device industry
- New Product Integration experience
- Experience with polymers, sub-assemblies and/or thermal processes
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to develop and present ideas using visual communication methods
- Experience with validation and qualification of equipment and processes
