Full Job Description
Are you a strategic leader with deep expertise in medical education and procedural training? This is a high impact, highly visible opportunity to shape how healthcare professionals engage with innovative technologies across the US. As Senior Manager of Procedural Skills Training, you will lead a national team, influence cross functional strategy, and create best in class learning experiences that elevate both clinical practice and business performance. What will you be doing?
  • Lead and develop the US Procedural Skills Training team, including field based specialists and lab logistics personnel
  • Drive the strategy and execution of procedural training programs across Smith+Nephew Academies, field settings, and third party events
  • Build a best in class training organization through hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Commercial, R&D, and Medical Education teams to support product launches and training initiatives
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures and ensure consistent delivery of high quality training experiences
  • Oversee forecasting, equipment placement, and financial processes including OPEX, CAPEX, and reconciliation systems
  • Collaborate with global Procurement on vendor selection and cadaveric tissue sourcing
  • Leverage innovative learning technologies and methodologies to deliver engaging, interactive programs
  • Represent the organization with external healthcare professionals, demonstrating expertise in surgical techniques and business acumen
  • Track, analyze, and present training metrics, facility utilization, and program performance to leadership


What will you need to be successful?
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 12 to 15 years of experience in orthopedic procedural education or professional education environments
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing and developing teams
  • Strong understanding of operating room protocols, procedures, and training methodologies
  • Experience managing lab-based programs, with operating room exposure preferred
  • Proven ability to design, organize, and deliver education programs at scale
  • Strong analytical skills including the use of pivot tables and data visualization for reporting
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities and ability to operate in a complex environment
  • Self starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $125,500.00 - 145,000.00 USD annually (or hourly) The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. In addition to base pay, we provide competitive bonus and benefits, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k, tuition reimbursement, medical leave programs, parental leave, and generous PTO, paid company holidays annually and 8 hours of Volunteer time and a variety of wellness offerings such as EAP.
