What will you do?
  • Lead & Develop Team: Manage and mentor Principal/Senior Trust Officers, Trust Managers, and Regional Support Teams, providing coaching, development, and performance feedback to build a high-performing trust team.
  • Drive Client Excellence: Oversee trust account management and administration, ensuring superior client service delivery and continuous improvement in administration standards and client communication.
  • Champion Culture & Engagement: Foster a supportive work environment that promotes employee engagement, recognition, and alignment with RBC values
  • Build Business Growth: Develop relationships with internal RBC partners and external Centres of Influence (accountants, lawyers, family offices) to capture referral opportunities
  • Manage Operations & Risk: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, implement risk management initiatives, and maintain compliance with all applicable laws and RBC policies.
  • Succession & Talent Planning: Actively recruit new employees and manage succession planning to ensure continuity and capability within your team.
  • Collaborate Across RBC: Work with Senior Management in Risk, Client Experience, and other RBC divisions to align regional initiatives with national standards while addressing local market needs.


What do you need to succeed?

Must haves:
  • 7-10 Years of Senior Management Experience - In the Trust & Estate related segment with proven track record of leading and developing teams.
  • TEP Designation or Equivalent - Required certification demonstrating expertise in trust and estate planning;
  • Advanced Knowledge of Personal Trust Products and Services - Deep understanding of trust administration, personal trust structures, and trust-related services.
  • Leadership and People Management Skills - Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, mentor, and develop diverse teams; strong track record of performance management and succession planning.
  • Knowledge of Legal and Regulatory Framework - Strong understanding of Common Law relative to Estate, Trust and Agency business; knowledge of income tax laws, anti-money laundering requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Client Relationship Management Expertise - Ability to manage complex personal and family dynamics, the grieving process, and conflict resolution; proven ability to communicate about investment, estate, financial, trust, and taxation issues.


Nice-to-have:
  • Experience with Centres of Influence (COIs) Relationships - Background developing and maintaining relationships with accountants, lawyers, family offices, and other trusted advisors to drive referrals.
  • Experience in Talent Development and Succession Planning - Background in identifying high-potential employees, creating career development pathways, and building bench strength for future leadership roles.
  • Client-Centric Service Innovation - Experience implementing or championing client experience initiatives, proactively addressing client concerns, and driving continuous improvement in service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Proven Track Record in Building High-Performance Teams - Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative team environments, celebrate successes, and drive employee engagement and retention.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:
$90,000.00 - $140,000.00
