We are seeking a dynamic individual and an effective leader, who will report directly to the Associate Director Commodity Management for Hard Alloys metals commodities, to work within a highly matrixed group in leading the overall Titanium and Nickel Mill Commodity strategy within the RTX Supply Chain Management organization.
The Titanium & Nickel Mill Commodity Manager is responsible for developing and executing global sourcing strategies for titanium and nickel mill products used across the business. This role ensures continuity of supply, optimizes cost, and mitigates risk across a complex and highly specialized supply base. The leader will partner closely with engineering, operations, quality, and program teams to align commodity strategies with long-term business objectives.
The Commodity manager should demonstrate an advanced understanding of the RTX aerospace business, in particular critical metallics for Engine applications. They should be a subject matter expert in their commodities, with strong knowledge of the supply base, current and future trends impacting the commodity. This leader represents and works directly with upper management. The highly motivated team player filling this position will have the opportunity to network across RTX businesses, executive leadership and the external supply base at large.
What You Will Do- Develop, implement, and continuously refine global commodity strategies for titanium and nickel mill products, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, delivery, and compliance objectives.
- Lead strategic supplier relationships, including contract development, negotiation, long-term agreements (LTAs), and performance management.
- Monitor global markets, mill capacity, geopolitical risk, and industry trends that influence raw material pricing and availability.
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives, including value engineering, competitive bidding, should-cost analysis, and supply chain optimization.
- Collaborate with engineering and materials teams to support design decisions, optimize specifications, and support new product introductions.
- Support capacity planning, demand forecasting, and long-range procurement strategies to ensure supply continuity and resilience.
- Lead risk mitigation activities including dual sourcing, inventory strategies, and supplier development.
- Manage internal stakeholders through clear communication, reporting, and alignment on commodity plans, cost initiatives, and key decisions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, export controls, and ethical sourcing standards.
- Support budgeting, cost modeling, financial analysis, and presentation of category strategies to leadership.
- Travel required up to 25%.
Qualifications You Must Have- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM), Business with emphasis on Supply Chain Management, or other related field.
- Experience with Aerospace Titanium and Nickel grade metallics, preferably Engine and rotor hardware requirements.
- Knowledge of titanium and nickel mill products, global mills, forging/conversion processes, and downstream manufacturing.
- Strong negotiation skills, contract expertise, and supplier relationship management experience.
- Ability to interpret complex technical and commercial data, including market indices and cost drivers.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage strategic initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
