Job Description:The Senior Manager, Technology Control Automation is responsible for designing and leading enterprise-wide technology control automation assessments and identifying opportunities for automating of such control testing. The role serves as a strategic bridge across First Line, Second Line, Audit, and Technology teams, creating scalable control automation frameworks, testing strategies (in coordination with GSD GRC Team), governance processes, and automation roadmaps that improve control testing effectiveness.
This role leads a team of technology controls and information security professionals in developing and managing strategies, programs, tools, frameworks, and policies. It also provides specialized oversight and governance for a key business segment or major transformation initiative, partnering with executive and functional stakeholders to reduce technology risk.
Depth & Scope:- Oversees / manages a team or group(s) of moderate to large or in size, scope, risk and complexity.
- Provides thought leadership and is future-focused.
- Possesses excellent communication, negotiation and organizational skills specifically including the ability to present options in business terms to both IT and business staff including executives.
- Has a deep expertise and knowledge of Bank, technology standards and leading large and varied teams of professionals.
- Possesses expert knowledge of broad scope of technology controls / information security, technology, tools, processes and procedures, as well as broader organization issues.
Education & Experience:- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Information security certification / accreditation an asset
- 10+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:- 10+ years of experience in Technology Risk, Control Testing Automation, Information Security, Internal Controls, Audit, or Governance.
- Experience leading enterprise-scale control transformation, control automation, and assurance programs.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies, governance processes, and audit requirements.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Excellent written, presentation, and executive communication skills.
- Improved control standardization and automation.
- Increased assurance coverage without proportional staffing growth.
- Successful regulatory and audit outcomes.
- Strong adoption of governance frameworks and control libraries.

Technology Control Automation Architecture- Lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise technology control automation.
- Establish authoritative sources for technology controls and promote control standardization across the organization.
Technology Risk & Assurance- Design and operationalize scalable control automation/testing methodologies, quality assurance standards, and evidence requirements.
- Drive enterprise-wide technical control testing automation programs across applications, infrastructure, cloud, and technology processes.
- Improve audit defensibility through clear alignment between control objectives, control testing automation, and evidence collection.
Governance, Regulatory & Audit Engagement- Partner with three lines of defense ket partners to strengthen the understanding of frameworks and issue management practices.
- Ensure effective linkage between controls, findings, issues, remediation activities, and reporting mechanisms.
People Leadership & Organizational Influence- Mentor teams and develop organizational capability through training, coaching, and standards adoption.
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders and senior leaders to drive enterprise alignment and transformation initiatives.
