Job Overview:
Responsible for the strategy and active roadmap of the IT organization. Lead and manage technology and business systems that enable continued scale and distributed growth. Define and curate metrics to measure the operating effectiveness, efficiency, and security of the company's technology systems and IT services
Responsibilities:
Ensure compliant IT operations, adequate application and infrastructure portfolio and IT roadmap based on Mercedes-Benz standards
Planning, controlling and monitoring of the IT operation and escalation management
Responsible for managing and coordinating system updates and enhancements with internal and external stakeholders
Manage, motivate and develop staff using target agreements and performance
appraisals, founded on our mission statement & corporate values, and providing internal communications
in order to achieve the agreed objectives
Serves as Information Security Officer (ISO) and Information Security Officer - Automation (ISO-A) ensuring Daimler security policies are implemented and data/information is protected by Cyber Threats. Provides awareness and transparency of security initiatives and policies to the facility
Implement definition of roles & responsibilities and ensure continual optimization thereof. Establish and manage the IT-Support organization for the Business areas
Ensure that cybersecurity and regulatory requirements are addressed and implemented in the region/entity as required
Responsible for implementing IT policy and best practice guides for the organization
Ensure that all Group and local regulations, guidelines and works agreements, etc. that apply for the area of responsibility are complied with and are applied
Contributes to the development and implementation of plant wide strategies
Works with suppliers and internal Daimler Shared Services. Responsible for monitoring and finding ways to reduce costs and find efficiencies in contracts and Service Level Agreements
Leads regularly scheduled department meetings
Other duties as assigned

Defines performance goals, conducts performance reviews
Effectively communicates and engages employees to meet objectives
Responsible for employee development and qualification
Financial Responsibilities:
Manages budget and personnel allocation efficiently.

Qualifikationen Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or other technical discipline or in comparable studies.
8+ years of experience in a leadership role; directing, training, mentoring, and developing personnel in a high demanding environment.
Proven expertise and knowledge of IT technology related to network, server, client, and telecommunication environment
Knowledge and Skills:
Collaboration with external partners, suppliers
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Negotiating skills, personal ability to motivate people and to achieve the fulfillment of the local requirements
Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams
Skills for conceptual and strategic development

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC ("MBV Charleston") is a Ladson, South Carolina-based production entity that manufactures Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian markets
The Sprinter plant officially opened in 2018 and serves as a key part of the Mercedes-Benz Vans global production network. MBV Charleston was selected as the first plant in this network to produce the all-new eSprinter, beginning in 2024. The company also continues to invest in the local community through donations to non-profits and schools, as well as active support of STEM education initiatives and volunteer programs
Since 2006, Sprinter and Metris vans have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations across the United States. In 2025, the plant celebrated the assembly of the 5,000,000th Sprinter in the Mercedes-Benz global production network. The U.S. remains the second largest market for Sprinter vans after Germany
