Full Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Tax Technology Services to lead large-scale transformation initiatives that modernize engineering and operations capabilities across the enterprise. This role combines experience in DevOps, site reliability engineering, cloud operations, and platform engineering with leadership across complex stakeholder environments. The ideal candidate brings experience leading transformation programs, guiding senior stakeholders, and driving scalable operational improvement.

Work you'll do

As a Senior Manager, Tax Technology Services on the team, you will be responsible for:
  • Leading enterprise DevOps transformation initiatives, including operating model design, process improvement, and implementation planning
  • Managing client relationships, delivery teams, and workstreams across complex cloud, platform, and engineering transformation programs
  • Advising clients on DevOps, site reliability engineering, platform engineering, and cloud operations capabilities, including automation, observability, and infrastructure modernization
  • Translating business, engineering, and operational requirements into actionable roadmaps, project plans, and deliverables
  • Overseeing quality of work product, mentoring junior practitioners, and supporting practice development efforts

The team

Deloitte Tax LLP's Tax Transformation Office (TTO) is responsible for the design, development, and deployment of innovative, enterprise technology, tools, and standard processes to support the delivery of tax services. The TTO team focuses on enhancing Deloitte Tax LLP's ability to deliver comprehensive, value-added, and efficient tax services to our clients. It is a dynamic team with professionals of varying backgrounds from tax technical, technology development, change management, Six Sigma, and project management. The team consults and executes on a wide range of initiatives involving process and tool development and implementation including training development, engagement management, tool design, and implementation.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps, site reliability engineering (SRE), platform engineering, or cloud operations, including 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Experience leading enterprise-scale DevOps transformation programs
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), observability tools, and automation frameworks
  • Experience defining and implementing metrics-based operating models and engineering or operations key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
  • Ability to travel 20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • One of the following accreditations obtained:
    • Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
    • If not CPA eligible:
      • Licensed Attorney
      • Enrolled Agent
      • Technology Certification/s
        • Vendor Certification for Management of Implementations (Oracle, SAP, Thomson Reuters, etc.)
        • Project Management (PMP)
        • Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD)
        • Six Sigma (Black Belt)
Preferred:
  • Experience presenting recommendations, project updates, and operating model changes to senior stakeholders
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and product or business functions
  • Experience in roles spanning both strategy development and technical execution in DevOps, site reliability engineering (SRE), platform engineering, or cloud operations
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
