Job Overview: The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Engineering is a hands-on engineering and execution role responsible for driving operational improvement across Leslie's distribution and logistics network. This individual applies industrial engineering principles - facility layout, process engineering, network optimization, and capital project development - to identify, quantify, and implement supply chain improvements. The role owns a structured initiative pipeline and leads cross-functional project execution from scoping through delivery. The Senior Manager works directly in the operations - conducting site-level analysis, developing engineering models, and driving projects in partnership with DC Operations, Transportation, Logistics, IT, and Supply Chain Analytics. Responsibilities: Supply Chain Engineering & Network Optimization • Conduct facility layout, slotting, and process flow analysis across the DC network to improve pick efficiency, labor productivity, and space utilization. • Perform network flow modeling to identify lowest-cost distribution configurations and evaluate capacity, expansion, and consolidation scenarios. • Develop engineering-based business cases for capital investments - including equipment, automation, and facility improvements - with supporting ROI, labor impact, and throughput analysis. • Apply industrial engineering methods (time study, simulation, process mapping) to identify waste, standardize operations, and justify improvement investments. • Evaluate DC bypass, direct-from-vendor fulfillment, and milk run opportunities through structured network and cost modeling. Project Management & Initiative Execution • Own and maintain a prioritized supply chain initiative roadmap, translating engineering findings and operational gaps into structured, executable projects. • Lead end-to-end project execution - defining scope, milestones, resource requirements, and measurable outcomes aligned to operational and financial targets. • Coordinate cross-functional project teams spanning DC Operations, Transportation, Procurement, IT, and Vendor Compliance. • Prepare and deliver business cases, project updates, and post-implementation results for VP and senior leadership. • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and blockers - driving resolution without escalation where possible. Systems & Process Improvement • Partner with IT and operations teams to identify process and data capture gaps that limit supply chain visibility or execution effectiveness. • Support WMS, ERP, and planning system enhancements by providing operational requirements, process documentation, and implementation support. • Develop reusable engineering standards, process templates, and operational playbooks that scale across the distribution network. • Champion continuous improvement discipline - building structured feedback loops between site operations and the initiative roadmap. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, Supply Chain Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. • 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering, supply chain engineering, or operations engineering - with direct DC or logistics network exposure. • Demonstrated hands-on experience in facility layout, slotting optimization, process engineering, or network flow analysis. • Proven ability to develop and deliver capital project business cases with quantified ROI and operational impact. • Strong project management skills - able to lead cross-functional initiatives from scoping through execution and results tracking. • Proficiency in Excel modeling; experience with engineering analysis tools, simulation software, or optimization platforms a plus. • Strong communication skills - able to translate engineering findings into clear operational and financial recommendations for senior leadership. Leslie's provides a robust benefits package, including: • Comprehensive medical, pharmacy, dental, & vision plan options. • Health savings account (with enrollment in the high deductible health plan option). • Health & dependent care flexible spending accounts. • Company-paid basic life and AD&D insurance. • Voluntary supplemental life insurance. • Company-paid short-term disability and voluntary long-term disability insurance. • Pre-tax and Roth 401(k) with company match. • Paid vacation, sick, and bereavement leave. • Paid holidays, including a floating personal day. • Employee assistance and wellness programs. • Earned Wage access is available, allowing early access to a portion of your earned wages before payday. • Product discounts at Leslie's Retail stores.
