Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity? RBC Direct Investing Product & Strategy team plays a crucial role in the development and articulation of the long term business strategy. Acting as thought leaders for business leadership, the team provides support to the highest priority and most complex problems facing the Direct Investing business. The successful candidate will own the preparation of executive-level materials, conduct strategic deep-dives into key client segments and business initiatives to support development of our long-term product roadmap, and oversee projects from inception through to implementation, always aligning with business strategy and objectives.
What will you do?- Conduct project-based strategic deep-dives into key client segments and business initiatives, producing in-depth analysis and recommendations that guide strategic planning and execution
- Manage the transition of strategy to delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
- Own the monthly business review process, including analyzing financial performance and results against business KPIs, interpreting their impact on the business, and developing insightful materials for leadership review and decision-making
- Own targets and key business outcomes, proactively managing risks to both deliver and achieve objectives
- Maintain a deep understanding of the business strategy and the competitive landscape, leveraging domain expertise to identify and prioritize opportunities that enhance competitive positioning and improve business and client outcomes
What do you need to succeed?Must haves: - 3-5 years of experience in Corporate Strategy, Consulting, Capital Markets or product management/strategy experience within a Financial Services, FinTech or technology company
- Exhibits the ability to navigate ambiguity and synthesize large amounts of information into clear materials for executive stakeholders
- Interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships at every level of the organization
- Strong written and oral presentation skills and presence; strong technical ability with PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- Advanced problem solving and analytical skills and innate comfort with numbers, and attention to detail
- Creativity and continuous improvement mindset
Nice-to-have: - CFA and/or strong knowledge of investment products and services
- Minimum two years of deep and broad management consulting experience with an emphasis on business strategy
