As an Engineering Manager, you will partner with product, architecture, and business leaders to deliver scalable, reliable, and modern technology solutions that support CVS Health's mission of making healthcare more accessible, convenient, and affordable.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a high-performing culture focused on collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.
- Partner with senior leadership, product teams, architects, and business stakeholders to define and execute engineering strategies, roadmaps, and technical solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
- Drive the delivery of scalable, reliable, and high-performing software solutions while establishing and enforcing engineering best practices, quality standards, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams to manage priorities, mitigate risks, communicate project status, and ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives and business outcomes.
- Contribute to solution architecture, system design, engineering process improvements, and modernization efforts across cloud-native and microservices-based platforms.
This role follows a hybrid work model and requires onsite presence three days per week at our Woonsocket, Rhode Island office location.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering highly scalable software applications and distributed systems.
- 3+ years of experience leading, managing, mentoring, and developing software engineering teams.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot application development.
- 5+ years of experience leading technical deliverables and driving successful project execution in Agile environments.
- 3+ years of experience designing and implementing microservices and API-based architectures.
- 3+ years of experience working with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Functional knowledge and experience supporting Pharmacy technology solutions.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering methodologies.
- Strong decision-making, organizational, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience leading technology modernization and transformation initiatives within large enterprise environments.
EDUCATIONBachelor's degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)
Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:
$130,295.00 - $260,590.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
