Senior Manager, Project Management-Global Payments Network

As a Senior Manager Project Manager at Capital One, you will be a key leader in a newly formed PMO driving cross-division initiatives, strategy and executing on high priority projects for the company. You will work with smart and passionate people to deliver results that have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line. General Responsibilities:

  • Leading moderate to large complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction to projects, peers, and direct reports.

  • Designing, developing, and managing project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements

  • Effectively managing scope, schedule, resources, budget and communicating status, impediments, and risks/issues of the program/project

  • Ensuring projects are being documented appropriately to mitigate risk and to be delivered on time

  • Leveraging problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent

  • Partnering cross-functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery

  • Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments

  • Displaying a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through their leadership style

  • Influencing and managing a large set of stakeholders/Intent owners across COF ranging from VP+ to associate

The person will:

  • Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project / program efforts

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to thrive in gray space and quickly putting structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment

  • Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes

  • Have an eye for detail and a love for building/optimizing processes for efficiency and effectiveness

  • Leverage and translate data into compelling stories to drive action

  • Have passion for coaching and developing associates

  • Exhibit exceptional problem solving and influencing skills

  • Set direction, manage expectations and lead cross-functional teams

  • Be comfortable working in a fast paced time sensitive environment

  • Be confident, respectful, and articulate when registering dissenting opinions with colleagues and senior management

  • Serve as subject matter expert on governance and process improvement initiatives

  • Exemplify excellent People leadership and development competencies, while holding themselves and others to a high bar for quality and results

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

  • At least 8 Years of Project Management experience

  • At least 1 Year of People Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree

  • At least 10 years of Project Management experience

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills

  • Excellent problem solving and influencing skills

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
