The Senior Manager, Production Planning will be accountable for development of a feasible the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Materials Requirement Plan (MRP) to drive production planning and scheduling. This role is responsible for delivering key metrics such as plan attainment, material availability, On-time-in-full (OTIF), and inventory. Additional responsibilities includes facilitating the Supply Review forum(s), part of Integrated Business Planning (IBP), to recommend mid to long term supply to optimize customer service, cost, and inventory. The Production Planning manager works in close collaboration with Manufacturing, Sourcing, Value Stream/Product Management, Quality, Engineering, and R&D. This individual will report to the Surgical Robotics Global Planning leader.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning

  • Working with planners and schedulers to create a realistic Master Production Schedules (MPS) and Material Requirements Plan (MRP) for finished goods, sub-assemblies, and components.
  • Directing and managing activities of the site(s) as it pertains to production planning & scheduling impacting the manufacturing facility.
  • Own performance and continuous improvement plans for metrics such as net requirement attainment, production plan attainment, material availability, On-time-in-full (OTIF), backorder, and inventory (net and DOS).
  • Leverage APS, ERP/MRP, and MES systems to deploy high-maturity, system-based planning processes including maintaining planning parameters and ensuring data integrity.
  • Lead team to identify issues and assess impact of Short Term Escalation Management (STEM) issues; partners cross-functionally to mitigate impacts
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Product Management, Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, and R&D to define and implement improvement projects to drive E2E optimization.
  • Provides clear leadership for site team. Develops, coached and guides team of planners and team leads in the execution and realization of departmental and company goals, optimizing overall group effectiveness and business impact.

Site Capacity Planning / Supply Review / IBP

  • Manages capacity planning requirements for the site(s) including business supply needs, new product introduction (NPI) builds, and other plant project work.
  • Lead the Site Supply Review(s) to recommend the optimal plan to achieve the demand in the mid to long term (IBP horizon of 24 months) balancing Customer Service, Inventory, and Cost. Partner with Make, Engineering, and Sourcing to develop actions to change capacity to balance demand, supply, and inventory.
  • Partners with E2E Planning in order to balance supply and demand and bring transparency of risks and opportunities to the IBP process. Participate in other IBP forums as applicable.
  • Evaluate scenarios and recommend the best plan balancing trade-offs between customer service, inventory, and cost.

Qualifications

Education:

  • University bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Minimum of 4 years of people management experience
  • Experience in Production / Supply Planning including MRP, especially new product launches and optimizing supply to support service, cost, and inventory goals.
  • Experience deploying or leading a team using system-based planning with Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)
  • Consistent track record of challenging the “status-quo”, visualizing potential opportunities and implementing actions to build value.
  • Ability to work effectively and implement solutions in a cross-functional, team environment.
  • Analytical/quantitative skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to develop, coach and lead a team of planners and team leads in the execution, strategies and realization of departmental and company goals.
  • Adaptable to meet constantly evolving priorities.
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Ability to communicate clearly, making the complex clear and compelling to all levels of the organization in both written & oral forms.
  • Demonstrates strong decision-making ability in a multiple scenario environment.
  • Uses business and financial acumen to drive E2E decisions & key outcomes.

  • SAP experience especially S4/Hana
  • Supply Chain Certification (APICS/ CSCP)
  • Experience in healthcare / regulatory dependent sector
  • Capital equipment planning experience
  • Green Belt Six Sigma Certifications
  • PMP / FPX

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$142,000.00 - $244,950.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).



This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.



Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year

Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
