The Senior Manager Product Manager will be accountable for the overall lifecycle, from development to production to long-term performance, of the Fixed Wing product lines within the Power Transmission Systems business at Collins Aerospace Advanced Structures business. You will be responsible for the strategy, the financial performance, and the customer outcomes tied to these products.

You will own the product roadmap, balance cost, schedule, and performance, own competitiveness and capacity decisions, and serve as the chair of the Integrated Project Team (IPT) accountable for managing the cost, schedule, performance and on-time delivery of our products. Candidate must be detail oriented, possess critical thinking skills to provide recommendations that are in alignment with the organization's strategy and goals, and be organizationally savvy to influence and achieve goals in a heavily matrixed structure.

This position is a hybrid role, but significant on-site presence in the Rome, NY facility will be required.

What You Will Do

• Serves as the face of the organization to customers
• Responsible for Profit and Loss of large program and project value streams in sustaining (existing production) and new development activities
• Leads risk and opportunity management for programs in production
• Participates in coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operational budgets, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts to ensure legal compliance and to protect the organization's interests
• Leads large programs to support the development of program plans, schedules, and budgets for programs under his/her responsibility
• Establishes key performance indicators and directs work to achieve these targets
• Analyzes data and monitors programs to ensure adherence to cost, schedule and technical specifications
• Maintains and presents plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the program(s) to Senior Leadership and Customers
• Implements continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality, specifically utilizing CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence), lean, or six sigma methodology
• Identifies and addresses program problems and recommends resolutions to ensure the successful performance of programs in production including field service safety issues, customer satisfaction issues, obsolescence, work transfers, improvements for capacity, and supplier requests
• Leads program work with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with the customer program objectives supporting development phase and then owning the production phase
• Directs program phases from proposal development through completion (sunsetting) of program
• Interfaces with customers for program requirements to ensure successful completion
• Manages the contract lifecycle, cost, schedule and performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs

Must Have Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
• Program or product management experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with program management systems including manpower planning, program scheduling, cost controls and earned value management
• Experience in operations and production flow management including supply chain oversight
• Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing techniques and technical requirements
• Knowledge of aerospace contracts
• Experience with proposal preparation and customer negotiations preparation
• Knowledge of aerospace policies, procedures and system requirements including quality, manufacturing and program management
• Applied theory level knowledge of the management system

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
