Job Description:
Role and Responsibilities:
The senior manager is accountable for ensuring accurate and timely reporting for the income statement and balance sheet for Global Equities Derivatives businesses in TD Securities. This role will liaise with Front Office, Information Technology, Risk, Finance and other control functions and key stakeholders.
Acting as key advisor to the front-office, Risk, Finance, and other key stakeholders for the coverage businesses, providing insight and analysis of the financial results. Specific activities would include the following:
Manage a team of talented controllers supporting the P&L validation processes and P&L attribution metrics for Volcker Reporting.
Responsible for key controls and sox controls review and sign off.
Accountable for the accuracy of P&L and Balance Sheet through robust substantiation.
Inform senior management and key stakeholders of any significant irregularities.
Review and approve new product and material business changes.
Identify opportunities to improve/streamline processes leveraging AI technology.
Proactively monitor all operational issues pertaining to the trading portfolios assigned.

10+ years' experience in Product Control preferred specific experiences in Equity Derivatives and Equity Financing businesses in a large financial services organization

Oversees a large and significant multi-faceted financial reporting and attribution function and stakeholder support overall accountability for providing strategic direction, guidance on a broad and diverse range of complex reporting activities / controls / analysis / commentary and/or specialized project support.
Provides effective challenge, oversight, and outcomes, while operating within the Bank's risk appetite with focus on the controls and effective processes
CUSTOMER
Lead a team to achieve business / operational objectives, maintain effective day-to-day operations and deliver quality service and transaction processing consistent with TD Finance business objectives
Set service and control standards, implement, and operate systems to monitor service delivery
Oversee research, development and implementation of new processes, technologies, or operating models
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners for the purposes of delivering optimal customer service
Coach to ensure operational problems are handled appropriately, and participate in the negotiation and resolution of complex and/or escalated issues where necessary
Primary escalation points for significant risk matters / exceptions
Act as subject matter expert for own area and provide guidance / advice and recommendations to support dealings with internal / external partners
Contribute to the analysis, and execution of potential business restructures, acquisitions, joint ventures and /or divestitures within own area of responsibility
Manage / coordinate client requests for finance support and/or reports, ensuring that solutions balance and address business partner needs with overall Finance capabilities
Participate on internal / external committees as appropriate to provide advice / counsel to business / finance partners and/or represent TDBG interests

Scope may include integration of activities and Finance support for several key business lines
Primary interface and high-level resource to Business leaders on financial performance measures / business objectives / goals
Integrates knowledge of the enterprise function9s or business segment9s overarching strategy in leading program design, policy formulation or operating standards within one or more areas of expertise
Anticipates regulatory/risk issues as a basis for recommending large-scale product, technical, functional or operations improvements
Facilitate key strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audience (output may include strategic roadmap and/or deliverables/ frameworks/ short to long term goals etc.)
Set operational team direction and collaborate with others to execute on common goals

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION
Work activities include a blend of highly collaborative activities and individual deliverables. Individuals are expected to be onsite 4 days a week. Colleagues may spend more or less days in office as required by the business line.
