What is the opportunity?

As a senior process owner and subject matter expert, you will lead the governance and oversight of large, multi-year process transformation programs supporting Cash, Cheques and Payments ensuring effective program delivery and cross-pillar alignment. You will be the orchestrating lead between executive sponsors, business leaders, and operational teams, coordinating complex initiatives that drive organizational transformation.

You will manage large transformational projects in Cash, Cheques and Payments and direct various stakeholder groups to deliver enterprise-wide transformation benefits while managing stakeholder priorities, program health, and strategic alignment across competing business objectives. This pivotal role combines strategic vision with hands-on operational expertise, positioning you to drive organizational excellence through process optimization, artificial intelligence, automation and advanced reporting and data analytics.
Success is consistently delivering on transformational projects that achieve measurable improvements in process efficiency, operator productivity, operational risk reduction, as well as client and employee satisfaction.

What will you do?
  • Transformation Leadership: Serve as the primary process strategy advisor and lead in cross-functional teams that execute large enterprise process transformation programs supporting RBC's Cash, Cheques and Payments Operations Centres
  • Program Management: Plan and govern project delivery by defining scope, priorities, timelines, controls and solution design aligned to program objectives and goals
  • Data Driven Decision Making: Conduct cross-functional data analysis and process reviews to identify optimization opportunities, building compelling business cases for transformation, maximizing synergies and economies of scale across the enterprise
  • Process Optimization: Continuously prioritize and solve for transformation opportunities leveraging artificial intelligence, robotic process automation (RPA), innovative technology and digital enablers to streamline fulfillment processes, achieve efficiency gains, reduce risk, increase operator productivity, and improve digitization year-over-year
  • Risk Management: Design controls and decision frameworks for large-scale, multi-year initiatives to mitigate reputational, financial and operational risk.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Stewardship: Build strong relationships across Operations, Global Transaction Banking, Technology, Risk, and multiple Data and Enterprise Transformation teams to ensure transformation projects are successfully delivered on time and on budget


What do you need to Succeed?

Must Have:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Technology Management or a related field
  • 5+ years' experience with end-to-end (E2E) process design, re-engineering, gap analysis, process mapping, documentation, remediation and optimization
  • Previous banking operations experience is a differentiating asset
  • Proven success in managing and leading complex multi-year transformation programs
  • Exceptional relationship and stakeholder management skills - including senior levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex issues while balancing strategic thinking and return-on-investment
  • Solid knowledge of risk remediation including controls and assessment frameworks
  • Strong analytical and data skills to support the identification and assessment of process improvement opportunities and business case development
  • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Business Process Management (BPM), Kaizen or similar process improvement and metrics driven methodologies
  • A strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel as well as process mapping and workflow management tools - e.g., Lucid, Visio, Confluence, Jira, Kanban, etc.
  • Keen interest in technology as an enabler to operations, with experience in integrating intelligent automation, AI/ML-driven process improvement or workflow orchestration tools to deliver measurable business improvements


Nice-to-Have:
  • Depth of experience in Cash, Cheques and Payments Processing
  • Project management accreditations - e.g. PMP, CAPM, CSM, ACP, etc.
  • Process management accreditations - e.g., LSS Green Belt, CBAP, etc.
