Senior Consultant - New Markets

Employment Status: Full-time, Permanent.

Location: Hybrid role. Interested Candidates must have the ability to work from one of our administrative offices in Calgary, Edmonton, or Red Deer at minimum one day per week, or as needed by the business.

Reporting to the Director, New Markets and Opportunities the Senior Consultant, New Markets, is an individual contributor who plays a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and advancing strategic growth opportunities in emerging markets. This position focuses on market research, partnership development, and execution planning to support Servus' transformational strategies and long-term growth objectives.

Key responsibilities include identifying growth opportunities through product innovation, partnerships, and market expansion; developing high-impact plans and financial models aligned with corporate objectives; and securing leadership support through rigorous market research and data-driven business cases. In addition, this role provides guidance through initiative implementation as a subject matter expert, ensuring strategic alignment, financial viability and member experience objectives are upheld from concept to execution.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Identifying and Developing Growth Opportunities
    Research emerging markets, industry trends, and member needs to uncover new business opportunities and develop recommendations that drive organizational growth. Managing the pipeline of New/Ongoing Opportunities.
  • Leading Strategic Partnerships
    Build and manage relationships with internal and external partners, evaluating opportunities and negotiating solutions that create mutual value.
  • Delivering High-Impact Projects
    Lead complex initiatives from concept through implementation, coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives and measurable results. Provide Key Operational and Strategic Support for DEIB related initiatives, such as Servus Halal, Indigenous Banking and New-to-Canada Initiatives.
  • Providing Strategic Insights and Recommendations
    Analyze business challenges, market dynamics, and performance data to deliver actionable insights that support executive decision-making.
  • Championing Innovation and Change
    Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance member experiences, and implement innovative solutions that strengthen organizational performance.


What you Bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in Retail and/or Business Banking, Marketing or Strategy are essential.


Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in data analytics would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations as it relates to credit unions, banking and finance is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Project Management and Change Management Strategies is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead effectively across a breadth of functional areas of the business.


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field. (MBA or Master's degree preferred).
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
