Job SummaryLeads day-to-day physical security operations for data center facilities across the Americas-East region, including installation, project management, maintenance, vendor management, and resolution of security issues.
Anticipates high-impact issues and leads incident resolution. Collaborates with regional and cross-functional counterparts to address and resolve customer and operational issues. Plans and manages budgets, performs project planning, performs trouble resolution, maintains infrastructure, supports customer escalations, and applies industry knowledge and best practices.
ResponsibilitiesLeadership
- Leads, manages, recruits, and develops staff across multiple locations
- Provides strategic guidance and direction to drive team results
- Set the vision, establish direction, communicate with the team, and ensure alignment
- Deliver training and onboarding of new team members
- Provide coaching and mentoring
- Build and motivate a successful team that delivers results and continuously seeks to improve performance
- Lead team to work safely, effectively, and with high regard to human error avoidance
- Live the Magic of Equinix and set the example for the team
- Provide support to regional team, including working with counterparts and performing training, installations, problem resolution and projects, with travel across East region as needed
Communications
- Support internal and external communications. Ensure relevant stakeholders are engaged and kept informed of the progress and status of initiatives
- Effectively communicate and deliver data-driven presentations, tailored to each audience
- Cascade key business information to the team
- Assists with root cause analysis and incident resolution of physical security systems
Training
- Identify needs, plan, and secure resources to provide training for team needs
Budgeting/Financial Management
- Collaborate with team, Field Operations, and regional counterparts to analyze resource, system, license, supplier, project and maintenance requirements
- Plan, implement, and manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets, meeting Equinix KPI's and OKR's for budget vs. actuals
Project Leadership
- Lead Security Operations team and vendors to complete data center and regional projects, while partnering with Field Operations teams and other business partners to ensure success
- Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers to support the needs of the business; holding them to the highest standards
- Responsible for prioritizing, planning, tracking, managing, and measuring team output and productivity
- Communicate status to key stakeholders and regional leadership
Security
- Support physical security at data centers across multiple metros of the East Coast of the United States
- Facilitate internal and external security audits
- Provide security systems support for data center operations, including resolution of sophisticated issues and complex installation efforts
- Respond to customer RFP's and RFI's
- Lead Security Operations team and vendors to complete security installations
- Lead Security Operations team and vendors accurately complete security system upgrades
- Aid in testing, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
- Ensure work is completed to Equinix's standards, and meets operational KPI's and OKR's
Qualifications- Demonstrated physical security systems experience in high risk and/or critical infrastructure environments
- Experience managing and mitigating physical security threats
- Strong preference for data center physical security systems experience or other customer-facing mission critical environment experience
- Certification with a major security system manufacturer preferred
- Proven people management experience, typically 5+ years experience
- Educated to degree level in physical security systems, data centers, engineering, or business management, or with equivalent work experience
- Able to perform all essential job functions, including walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, lifting and manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation.
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
United States - DC10 Washington DC : 150,000 - 224,000 USD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.
