Full Job Description
About the Role:

At Extend, the People team partners closely with our business and strategically collaborates with our people to enable everyone's best work. We believe great People teams don't create process for process' sake, they build scalable systems, coach leaders through complexity, and create an environment where high-performing teams can thrive.

We're looking for a Senior Manager, People Operations to join our team and partner closely with the VP of People in scaling our organization. This is a broad leadership role for someone who is proactive, solution-oriented, excited to dive into the business and passionate about impactful employee experiences and enjoys moving seamlessly between strategy and execution at a fast pace. One day you may be working with executive leaders on organizational design or performance strategy; the next you're refining manager enablement programs or improving core people processes.

You'll lead many of our company-wide People programs while serving as a trusted advisor to leaders across the business. You'll also help mentor and elevate our growing People team as we continue to scale.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building, solving ambiguous problems, and creating practical solutions that make managers' lives easier and employees' experiences better.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Partner with executive leaders on organizational design, workforce and succession planning, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Own systems and processes with a data-driven lens. Evaluate and optimize people processes, including finding opportunities to leverage AI and automation.
  • Lead the development and execution of Extend's internal communication calendar and strategies related to key People programs, ensuring team members across all levels are informed, engaged and aligned with changes to policies, procedures, upcoming news and key initiatives. In partnership with leadership, create and manage content for internal channels to ensure clear, engaging and consistent messaging and companywide alignment.
  • Lead company-wide performance management, talent reviews, compensation planning, and career development programs.
  • Coach managers through employee relations, performance conversations, organizational change, and leadership challenges.
  • Drive strategic People initiatives that improve engagement, learning and development, retention, and manager effectiveness (including Mento and LinkedIn Learning, among others).
  • Develop scalable manager enablement programs, tools, and resources.
  • Analyze People metrics and trends to identify opportunities and recommend solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve how we work as a company, including on- and off-sites.
  • Maintain and audit People records and required compliance documentation.
  • Mentor members of the People Team and help establish best practices as the organization grows.
  • Jump in wherever needed. We're a small, collaborative team that values ownership over titles.
What We're Looking For:
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in people-focused roles at high-growth technology companies.
  • Strong HR Operations, HR Business Partner, or related experience with demonstrated success working with, coaching, and influencing executives and senior leaders.
  • Experience leading company-wide talent initiatives including performance management, compensation, organizational design, and leadership development.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and influencing skills.
  • Exceptional business judgment and ability to balance employee advocacy with business needs.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building programs from the ground up.
  • A collaborative, low-ego approach and willingness to roll up your sleeves. Resilience, flexibility and the ability to work quickly and effectively cross-functionally.
  • Proficient in using HRIS systems for identifying process improvements and efficiencies, data management, analytics and automation opportunities.

Expected Pay Range: $150,000-$200,000*

* The target base salary range for this position is listed above. Individual salaries are determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.

Extend does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.

Life at Extend:
  • Working with a great team from diverse backgrounds in a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Competitive salary based on experience, with full medical and dental & vision benefits.
  • Stock in an early-stage startup growing quickly.
  • Generous, flexible paid time off policy.
  • 401(k) with Financial Guidance from Morgan Stanley.
