AECOM is seeking a Senior Manager, Oracle PPM & Project Accounting Applications to lead the enterprise applications that support project costing, billing, revenue recognition, and project financial management across our global business.
Reporting to the Director of Project Administration and Financial Systems, this role will own the reliability, support, enhancement roadmap, and continued modernization of Oracle Projects / Oracle PPM, related reports and interfaces, and custom project-management applications.
This is a hands-on functional leadership role for someone who combines deep project-accounting systems expertise with implementation experience, production application ownership, and team leadership. You will lead approximately 4-5 internal team members while helping oversee external delivery partners and working closely with Finance, Project Controls, IT, and business leaders across AECOM
This position will offer flexibility for hybrid work schedules to include both in-office presence and telecommute/virtual work, to be based from either Houston or Dallas, TX.
Key Responsibilities
3 Provide functional leadership and ownership for Oracle Projects / Oracle PPM and related project-accounting processes, including Project Costing, Project Billing, Revenue Generation, AutoAccounting, Burdening, Transfer Pricing, Cross-Charge, and related project financial processes.
3 Lead, coach, and develop internal team members while managing priorities, capacity, delivery quality, and performance across internal and outsourced resources.
3 Own the stability, security, performance, and supportability of project applications, including incidents, recurring problems, service requests, enhancements, change control, access requests, audits, and corrective actions.
3 Lead implementations, conversions, migrations, major enhancements, and system rollouts from requirements and solution design through configuration, testing, deployment, go-live, and post-production stabilization.
3 Translate Finance, Project Controls, Billing, and business requirements into functional specifications, workflows, configurations, test cases, and actionable technical solutions.
3 Partner with technical teams on integrations, reporting, data, application architecture, and scalable enterprise solutions.
3 Maintain a 12-month application roadmap and contribute to longer-term modernization, architecture, resource, and budget planning.
3 Identify opportunities to simplify processes, eliminate recurring production issues, improve system performance, and enhance the user experience.
3 Support project applications used across multiple business groups, countries, and localizations.
3 Manage delivery partners and vendors, including service levels, quality, commitments, and accountability.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
3 Bachelors Degree plus at least 10 years of experience supporting, implementing, and maintaining enterprise project applications, reports, and interfaces, including 3 years of leadership experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
3 Deep functional experience supporting and improving enterprise project-accounting systems, with knowledge of processes such as project costing, project billing, revenue, burdening, transfer pricing, or cross-charge. Oracle Projects experience is strongly preferred; candidates with comparable enterprise project-accounting platform experience will also be considered.
3 Experience leading a system implementation, conversion, migration, or major rollout through requirements, functional design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-production stabilization, including the development of workflows, test cases, and implementation documentation.
3 Experience owning production application support, including incident and service-request management, recurring-problem resolution, enhancements, change control, access, and audit support.
3 Experience leading internal teams, vendors, or outsourced delivery partners, including responsibility for delivery quality, capacity, performance, and service-level compliance.
3 Strong executive communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence business leaders and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
3 Hands-on functional experience with Oracle E-Business Suite Projects or Oracle Fusion Cloud Project Management/PPM, including Project Costing and Project Billing.
3 Experience supporting enterprise applications across multiple business groups and country-specific localizations within a large, global, project-based organization.
3 Working knowledge of SQL, databases, integrations, enterprise reporting or BI tools, application architecture, and software development lifecycle methodologies; experience with Informatica, resource forecasting, budget planning, and long-range application roadmaps is a plus.
