The Operational Risk Leadis responsible forleading and sustaining enterprise-level operational, business continuity, and supply continuity programs that protect patients, customers, and operations across DePuy Synthes. This role serves as the critical bridge between Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Quality Management Systems (QMS), and operational functions, partnering with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, IT, and Commercial teams to proactively identify and mitigate risks across sites, suppliers, and logistics networks, strengthen organizational resilience, and ensure rapid recovery from disruptions. This is a high‑impactleadership role with visibility to senior leadership and direct influence on operational readiness, risk mitigation, and business performance.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and govern business continuity, crisis management, and supply disruption response programs to strengthen organizational resilience and recovery capabilities.  

  • Partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement leaders to identify critical vulnerabilities and implement risk mitigation strategies across materials, suppliers, sites, and logistics networks.  

  • Lead enterprise risk assessments, scenario planning, stress testing, and contingency planning for operational disruptions, including supplier failures, geopolitical events, cyber threats, and natural disasters.  

  • Establish risk monitoring, reporting, and resilience metrics to evaluate effectiveness, identify emerging risks, and drive continuous improvement.  

  • Ensure business continuity and operational risk programs align with regulatory, quality, audit, and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) requirements.  

  • Serve as a trusted advisor during significant disruptions, coordinating cross-functional response activities, mitigation efforts, and executive communications.  

  • Build organizational risk management capabilities by fostering a culture of preparedness, accountability, and proactive risk ownership across the enterprise.  

  • Lead and develop team members and matrixed resources to execute continuity, resilience, and operational risk objectives. 

  • Promote a proactive risk culture and strengthen risk management capabilities throughout the organization. 

  

Qualifications

Education

  • Required:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, ora relatedfield.

  • Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) or advanced training in risk management or operations.
     

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • Min of 8–10 years of progressive experience in business continuity, supply chain resilience, risk management, or operations leadership.

  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise ormulti‑sitecontinuity programs in a regulated environment.

  • Strong understanding of global supply chains, supplier risk, and operational interdependencies.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive risk mitigation initiatives.

  • Proven ability to leadcross‑functionalteams and influence without direct authority.

  • Experience with incident response, crisis management, andexecutive‑levelreporting.
     

Preferred:

  • Experience within medical device, pharmaceutical, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Familiarity with ISO 22301, business continuity standards, or enterprise risk frameworks.

  • Experience supporting global operations and complex supplier networks.

  • Demonstrated success driving continuous improvement andresiliencematurity across organizations.

Other:

  • Language: English (additionallanguages a plus).

  • Travel: Limited; up to ~25%, domestic and occasional international.

  • Certifications (Preferred): CBCP, MBCI, PMP, or equivalent business continuity or risk credentials.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

122,000.00 - 245,000.00 USD Annual

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Companys consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
