Job Description Summary
The Senior Manager, Operational EHS (Site Leader) serves as the primary EHS subject matter expert and operational leader for the Wilmington site fixed facilities. This role provides dedicated, daily EHS support, ensuring facility compliance while driving safety culture and operational excellence.

As a site-based leader, the ideal candidate will manage a medium staffed team and possess autonomy to influence budgets, operating plans, and local safety policies. They will work within complex manufacturing processes, utilizing their technical expertise and operational expertise to lead cross-functional teams, solve intricate problems, and proactively interpret industry trends to improve site processes. This role requires an elevated level of evaluative judgment to navigate interdependent production cycles, communicate complex safety initiatives to leadership, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to foster a high-performance safety environment.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Site EHS Ownership: Function as the primary onsite EHS authority, providing daily guidance and oversight for all environmental, health, and safety activities.
  • Team Leadership & Talent Development: Lead, mentor, and retain a medium-to-large team of EHS professionals. Cultivate a high-performing culture by providing technical guidance and performance management for direct reports.
  • Operational Integration: Partner with production and facility managers to solve complex EHS challenges within interdependent manufacturing cycles. Drive EHS initiatives and process improvements that support site output without compromising safety standards.
  • Strategic Compliance & Risk Management: Interpret shifting internal policies and external regulatory requirements to implement site-specific best practices. Lead risk mitigation projects and ensure all operational plans align with corporate safety mandates.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Function as the key liaison between EHS and other facility functions. Negotiate safety priorities with stakeholders, communicate complex risk data to site leadership, and influence external partners or vendors to adhere to site safety protocols.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Evaluate site-specific data, challenge conflicting reports, and utilize multi-functional internal and external resources to make high-impact decisions that prevent incidents and improve facility performance.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education/Experience: Master's degree from an accredited university or college; OR a high school diploma/GED with 5-10 years of progressive experience in EHS or related operational functions.
  • Site-Specific Expertise: Extensive professional experience working within fixed facilities.
  • Technical Insight: Demonstrated proficiency in applying complex engineering or manufacturing safety techniques to high-risk industrial environments.
  • Leadership Track Record: Proven experience managing, developing, and retaining teams of professional-level staff.


This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,100.00 and $188,500.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
