Senior Manager of Regulatory Construction Oversight (Natrium)

The Senior Manager of Regulatory Construction Oversight (Natrium) reports to the Senior Director of Regulatory Construction Oversight (Natrium) and is responsible for managing and performing activities associated with regulatory construction oversight, including oversight of construction of Kemmerer Unit 1, supplier oversight, and quality assurance oversight. The selectee will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of program-related documentation, such as procedures and guidance.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the development and implementation of the Regulatory Construction Oversight processes and procedures.
• Manage the development, execution, and maintenance of the schedule for the Regulatory Construction Oversight organization, including the schedule for oversight at Kemmerer Unit 1 and for conducting assessments at supplier facilities.
• Manage the planning, coordinating, organizing, and executing of on-going regulatory construction oversight activities.
• Manage staffing (hiring, training/coaching, performance management, time management), reporting, and budgeting activities related to the regulatory construction oversight program. This includes all actions related to contracted resources.
• Perform direct construction oversight activities, including inspections of Kemmerer Unit 1, supplier inspection visits, and oversight of quality assurance programs.
• Lead interactions with Federal, State, and local regulators.
• Work closely with partner organizations to provide the required support on regulatory construction oversight activities.
• Work closely with the design authority and design engineering groups to ensure adequate and timely responses to regulatory oversight issues.
• Actively participate in industry groups and forums, implementing lessons learned and industry best practices at TerraPower.

Key Qualifications:

• B.S. degree with a strong experience base in the nuclear field.
• 10+ years of direct nuclear reactor licensing, oversight management, and/or direct inspection experience, such as with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
• The candidate must have demonstrated a strong ability to lead a diverse team of technical staff and collaborate with partner organizations to resolve technical challenges.
• The candidate must be an excellent communicator, team oriented, willing to operate within a matrix organization, and able to direct remote team members.
• Experience with advanced reactor design, licensing, and oversight is desirable, but not required.
• The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly, and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

Seattle Salary Range: $184,368 - $245,824
Rockville Salary Range: $176,686 - $235,581

*Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual's qualifications experience.
