Riverpoint Medical in Portland Oregon is looking to hire a
Sr Manager, Manufacturing Engineering. As the
Sr Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing our manufacturing processes to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. You will lead a team of skilled process and manufacturing engineers and work collaboratively with other departments to support production and drive process improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities for the position include:- Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing and process engineers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure a high-performing and motivated team.
- Champion a culture of operational excellence by identifying and implementing continuous improvement activities with cross functional teams including new product development, production, quality, and supply chain.
- Lead Company wide Operational Excellence project planning system. Coach and mentor lean transformation teams.
- Manage Capital Equipment planning, purchasing and management of deliveries with equipment vendors.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Provide daily production support to set up, trouble shoot, repair, and monitor released manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with new product development teams to introduce new equipment and processes. Follow appropriate quality system requirements for new equipment introductions including IQ/OQ/PQ.
- Manage and optimize manufacturing costs by monitoring budgets, analyzing production data, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure a safe working environment for all employees by enforcing safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of processes, procedures, and performance metrics. Generate reports for management review.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Lead and support process-related projects from initiation to completion, ensuring project goals are met on time and within budget.
Education and Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering preferred).
- 5 - 7 years' experience in process engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in process optimization techniques, such as Lean Six Sigma.
- Demonstrated experience coaching and guiding lean transformations.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a cleanroom environment
- Experience with sterilization
- Experience with statistical analysis of data (Ex. Minitab, JMP, etc.)
- Experience with technical documentation (Ex. laboratory notebooks, publications, engineering reports, IQ/OQ/PQ's, Standard Operating Procedures, test protocols, etc.)
- Proven ability to translate high level business objectives into tactical solution plans and execute on those tactical plans to overcome obstacles and deliver on key results.
- Direct experience in leading characterization, design of experiments and data analysis methodologies
- Experience with Project Management and relevant tools
- Experience supporting customer audits and governing bodies reviews (FDA, GMED, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large/complex projects, aligning strategically with business needs in addition to working independently & within a team-based environment
- Demonstrated ability to influence and align key stakeholders drive decision-making
