Full Job Description
Overview

As a Senior Manager, Learning and Development you will build and lead Esler's enterprise learning and leadership development strategy. You'll be responsible for assessing current programs, platforms, tools, and development efforts, then creating a clear long-term strategy that supports leadership growth, succession planning, business performance, and future organizational needs.

You will partner closely with the VP of Human Resources, executive leaders, HR leadership, and business stakeholders to understand current gaps and long-term development goals. You will help organize where we are today, define where we need to go, and build a practical roadmap to get there.

This is a strategic, hands-on role for someone who can operate as an internal consultant, program builder, and learning strategist. The right candidate will be able to influence senior leaders, connect development efforts across the organization, and build scalable programs that help leaders grow at every level.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead Esler's long-term learning and development strategy and roadmap, aligned with business priorities and future capability needs.
  • Partner with executive and business leaders to identify capability gaps and shape priorities for leadership development, functional development, and succession readiness.
  • Build clear development pathways for leaders at all levels, connecting learning to performance, development planning, career growth, and succession planning.
  • Design and improve leadership development programs that reinforce Esler's leadership expectations, support practical application on the job, and integrate Echelon Front principles and other leadership development investments.
  • Support development planning following talent reviews, translating outcomes into individual development plans, succession actions, and readiness-building efforts.
  • Serve as an internal consultant to determine when training is the right solution and when coaching, process improvement, communication, accountability, or another approach may be more effective.
  • Establish a scalable approach for how learning needs are prioritized, designed, delivered, and maintained, leveraging internal subject matter experts, facilitators, and external partners as appropriate.
  • Oversee and continuously assess Esler's learning ecosystem, including programs, platforms, tools, content, and external partners, ensuring resources are organized and aligned to business and development needs.
  • Define and track meaningful measures of learning effectiveness, evaluate progress against the learning strategy, and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Oversee the design and development of targeted learning experiences, partnering with subject matter experts and external resources as needed, and facilitate select leadership or strategic programs where internal facilitation adds value.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Education, Psychology, Communications, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience developing learning strategies, leadership development programs, or other organization-wide development initiatives.
  • Strong consulting and business partnership skills, with the ability to assess needs, translate business priorities into practical solutions, and work effectively with senior and executive leaders.
  • Strong project management and facilitation skills, with the ability to organize complex work, manage competing priorities, and lead discussions across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Comfortable building structure in a growing, evolving organization; experience working across multiple locations or business units and managing external learning partners, platforms, or vendors is a plus.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time, including occasional overnight travel.
