What will you be doing in this role?

The Senior Manager, MN Finance is responsible in providing the financial oversight and guidance related to the financial activities of both Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation as well as Huntington, Torrance, and affiliated medical groups. In this role, the Sr. Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to management and support the development and implementation of strategic recommendations based on interpretation of metrics and operational performance. The incumbent will manage and coach support staff in the data analysis of existing practices as well financial implementation of new groups. In this role, the Senior Manager will provide guidance and supervision to professional and support staff towards the accomplishment of organizational goal.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Works collaboratively with managers and directors across the organization to help drive financial change and awareness.
  • Monitors and tracks financial variances at a detailed level providing insightful and actionable analysis and reporting, including key trends, metrics and business drivers to inform business performance and decision making in support of achieving strategic objectives.
  • Assists with developing deep knowledge and understanding of the various affiliate groups under CSMCF through the use of ongoing financial education and oversight.
  • Maintains and explains key business drivers while providing expert level fiscal and organizational strategic advice.
  • Prepares management financial reporting to help monitor the overall financial status of CSMCF operations for all affiliate groups.
  • Develops peer-level relationships across the organization.
  • Provides training to staff on financial reporting, processes and systems.
  • Develop financial presentations and related materials to support financial modeling of organizational strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve processes and forecasting accuracy.
  • Improve accessibility and reliability of data by using existing or implementing new systems to improve decision making.
  • Manage team to ensure accurate, informative, and timely reporting of financial data, forecasting and ad hoc requests.
  • Communicate and explain financial issues and guidance to management teams.
  • Ensure internal controls over financial reporting are effectively designed and executed.
  • Assess risk and evaluation of the reliability, consistency, and integrity of financial information in collaboration with executive management team.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Healthcare Administration. required
  • Master's Degree in Accounting preferred
Work Experience
  • 7 years in managing a healthcare Finance or Accounting Department required
  • 2 years Healthcare financial Management role experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
