Full Job Description
Let's face it - you love numbers. You're a clear, concise communicator who excels at prioritizing competing deadlines - and you're energized by the chance to roll up your sleeves, challenge the status quo, and drive meaningful improvement as part of a broader team.

You are
  • Accurate, organized, and detail-oriented, with an eye for deadlines
  • Proactive and independent, with strong, open communication
  • Energized by solving complex problems and improving processes, not just maintaining them
  • Comfortable operating with public-company-level discipline in a private company setting

You will
  • Manage the process over the timely and accurate preparation of consolidated and unconsolidated financial statements in accordance with ASPE, IFRS and US GAAP including technical and financial analysis thereof, taking a role in both the preparation and review of such statements, with the discipline and rigour expected of a public company reporting cycle
  • Support the close process at the real estate/property level to expedite reporting calendars while minimizing errors and late adjustments
  • Lead, coach and develop a small team of financial reporting professionals
  • Ensure rigorous reconciliation of intercompany balances across the organization's complex ownership structure, and oversee accurate capital stack reporting across debt, equity and profit-share positions
  • Lead initiatives to standardize accounting policy and strengthen internal controls
  • Roll up your sleeves to identify and drive significant process and system improvements - modernizing legacy reporting processes and tools, and building the infrastructure needed to support a growing, increasingly complex organization
  • Act as a point of contact for financial reporting queries from internal and external partners and auditors
  • Foster your team's growth and champion Anthem's Culture, in the spirit of The Anthem Way

You have
  • At least three (3) years' experience in financial reporting for a large, complex organization; public-company experience or equivalent complexity highly valued
  • A CPA designation
  • Strong understanding of ASPE and IFRS; REALpac experience an asset
  • Experience leading or mentoring a team
  • Experience with intercompany accounting and reconciliation, and capital stack reporting (debt, equity, waterfalls) within a multi-entity or real estate ownership structure
  • A track record of leading process and systems improvements, with comfort operating in an environment where current state isn't perfect and you're expected to help build what's next

We have
  • Great, diverse, authentic people!
  • Unlimited career growth opportunities
  • Mentorship from the 'best in the biz'
  • Corporate Giving Strategy supporting community development
  • Annual salary reviews and performance bonuses
  • A robust Benefit Plan and Employee Assistance Program
  • Educational Assistance Program
  • 'Dress for your day' policy... and more!

Base salary range: $120,000 - 155,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications and will be commensurate with title of Manger or Senior Manager.
