The Senior Manager, Logistics is a hands on leader of the Logistics team. This position manages transportation providers, warehouse operations, inventory controls, customs compliance, and project material deliveries across all active construction projects while driving continuous improvement in logistics performance, cost optimization, and customer satisfaction. The role serves as a key liaison between procurement, project management, suppliers, carriers, and (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) teams to ensure seamless material flow from manufacturing facilities to renewable project site locations (addresses) throughout the United States.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of Logistics Managers and Associates, ensuring effective execution of logistics plans across all assigned projects
  • Review and approve project-level logistics strategies, confirming alignment with broader functional and organizational goals
  • Serve as the escalation point for project logistics issues, supplier challenges, or delivery conflicts
  • Build cross-functional partnerships with Procurement, Construction, and Engineering to align logistics resources and timelines
  • Drive team development through coaching, performance reviews, and competency development aligned to company frameworks
  • Identify gaps in systems or tools used by logistics teams and champion improvements in collaboration with IT and PMO
  • Lead logistics efforts across multiple complex projects, ensuring timely coordination between suppliers, project teams, and field execution
  • Support contract negotiation strategies with key logistics vendors, ensuring alignment with service-level expectations and long-term partnerships
  • Develop and manage processes for proactive risk identification and resolution related to materials management and delivery
  • Coordinate cross-functional logistics efforts including delivery timing, vendor performance, QA/QC compliance, and warehousing
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior logistics staff, ensuring alignment with project standards and company practices
  • Lead process improvement initiatives within the logistics function, identifying opportunities for standardization and efficiency


Job Requirements and Experience:
  • B.S. degree in Business Administration/Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Engineering, but will substitute experience for degree
  • Minimum of 12 professional years of experience including 7+ years logistics-oriented experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of people management - Preferred
  • Knowledge of Renewables - Preferred
  • Experience managing utility-scale solar project logistics - Preferred
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, customs regulations, and trade compliance requirements
  • Experience with Warehouse Management System (WMS)/Inventory Management System (IMS)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
  • Ability to coordinate details with several projects
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
  • Experience with WMS/IMS Systems
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds

  • This position is an office-based hybrid role with some travel (+/- 30%) and visits to other RWEA offices and field locations
  • Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time as required


Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $164,000 - $220,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
