The Senior Manager - IT Systems Integration leads the network infrastructure portfolio that enables United's enterprise technology priorities. This role provides strategic leadership across demand management, planning, prioritization, delivery, and integration of infrastructure capabilities that support business-critical programs. The role is accountable for ensuring portfolio work produces measurable business outcomes by establishing success metrics, tracking benefits realization, and improving operational performance, cost efficiency, stakeholder adoption, and sustained value after implementation. Value measurement includes defining baseline performance, target outcomes, leading and lagging indicators, financial and non-financial benefits, adoption/readiness measures, and post-implementation benefit tracking so leadership can see whether investments delivered the intended operational, customer, cost, risk, and resiliency outcomes. The leader will partner with application portfolios, business stakeholders, product teams, and engineering teams to align demand, capacity, risk, funding, and execution plans while ensuring work is tied to broader investment decisions. Success requires experience leading modern technology delivery models, including product delivery, agile practices, value stream management, continuous planning, organizational change management, and AI-enabled portfolio practices that improve efficiency, predictability, and decision-making.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership, Business Outcomes, and Stakeholder Alignment:
• Leads cross-functional teams to resolve complex technology, delivery, and organizational challenges
• Establishes measurable business outcomes, success criteria, and value indicators for portfolio investments before execution begins
• Tracks benefits realization, operational improvements, cost efficiencies, adoption metrics, and sustained business value after implementation
• Defines value measurement plans that capture baseline metrics, expected outcomes, benefit owners, tracking cadence, reporting mechanisms, and post-launch validation of realized value
• Aligns budget, resource, and capacity decisions to enterprise priorities and portfolio outcomes
• Partners across Digital Technology and business functions to shape infrastructure priorities and support enterprise technology strategy
• Translates portfolio priorities, risks, capacity, and funding considerations into investment recommendations and executable delivery plans

Product, Agile, and Portfolio Delivery Accountability:
• Leads portfolio delivery across product, agile, and hybrid delivery models, aligning work to value streams, product roadmaps, and continuous planning cycles
• Owns delivery of key infrastructure milestones that enable corporate projects and enterprise programs
• Partners with product, application, engineering, and business teams to sequence work based on value, dependencies, capacity, and operational readiness
• Improves delivery predictability through automation, forecasting, capacity planning, and disciplined execution
• Applies agile delivery practices, value stream management, and continuous planning to improve speed, transparency, prioritization, and responsiveness to changing business needs

• Establishes capability-building plans that strengthen technical depth, delivery discipline, and team readiness

• Leads demand management practices that intake, evaluate, prioritize, and sequence work based on business value, capacity, risk, and strategic alignment
• Uses AI-enabled delivery practices, workflow automation, predictive planning, and portfolio analytics to improve efficiency, transparency, risk management, and leadership decision-making
• Builds data-driven portfolio insights that connect delivery performance to business value, adoption, benefits realization, operational outcomes, and investment tradeoffs
• Develops executive-ready value scorecards that measure delivery performance against business outcomes such as cycle-time reduction, cost avoidance, capacity optimization, risk reduction, resiliency improvement, operational readiness, and stakeholder adoption
• Provides clear portfolio performance insights to support leadership reviews, resource planning, and decision-making

Technical Strategy, Systems Integration, and Change Adoption:
• Provides leadership across complex system integrations, dependencies, and cross-platform impacts

Qualifications

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology Management or relevant field of study
• 5+ years relevant experience
• Experience working with diverse programs and portfolios in a large-scale capacity focusing on network infrastructure, including hardware refresh deployments and new build projects
• Team management experience
• Experience establishing measurable business outcomes, tracking benefits realization, and connecting portfolio delivery to operational improvements, cost efficiencies, and adoption metrics
• Experience building value measurement frameworks, including baseline/target definition, KPI selection, benefits ownership, value scorecards, and post-implementation value reviews
• Experience leading product, agile, or hybrid delivery practices, including value stream management, continuous planning, and cross-functional prioritization
• Experience leading change management, stakeholder adoption, and transition-to-operations strategies for technology implementations
• Background in service delivery at an enterprise level, comfortable with reporting projects to senior leadership
• Proven experience leading complex project or program portfolios, including evidence of portfolio-level prioritization, strategic decision-making, and alignment of delivery work to broader investment priorities
• Ability to define measurable business outcomes, establish value metrics, and track benefits realization, operational improvements, cost efficiencies, adoption, and sustained value after implementation
• Ability to translate portfolio investments into measurable value cases with clear baselines, targets, benefit owners, data sources, governance cadence, and executive reporting on realized versus expected value
• Knowledge of product delivery models, agile delivery practices, value stream management, continuous planning, and hybrid portfolio execution
• Strong intake and demand management experience, including intake governance, portfolio prioritization, stakeholder tradeoff management, project assignment methodology, and sequencing of portfolio work based on business value, capacity, risk, and strategic alignment
• Demonstrated experience with resource capacity planning, forecasting, scenario planning, dependency management, and delivery governance across complex infrastructure portfolios
• Ability to lead organizational change management, stakeholder engagement, adoption planning, readiness, communications, and transition-to-operations strategies
