Full Job Description
Goodwin is seeking a Senior Manager, IT Project Management to lead the delivery of complex, cross-functional technology initiatives across the firm. This role is responsible for driving execution excellence, ensuring strong governance, and delivering projects that align with the firm's strategic priorities.
The Senior Manager will oversee a portfolio of high-impact initiatives-spanning enterprise applications, data, infrastructure, and security-while partnering closely with business and technology stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
Project & Program Leadership
• Lead and oversee a portfolio of complex IT projects and programs from initiation through delivery
• Serve as the program lead for large, enterprise-wide initiatives with significant business impact
• Define scope, timelines, milestones, and success criteria in partnership with stakeholders
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
Execution & Delivery Excellence
• Drive disciplined project execution using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies
• Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and resource constraints
• Implement mitigation strategies and ensure proactive problem-solving
• Establish and maintain project plans, status reporting, and documentation
Stakeholder Management
• Partner with senior business and technology leaders to align on priorities and delivery expectations
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership
• Lead governance forums, steering committees, and project reviews
• Manage expectations and drive accountability across cross-functional teams
Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop project managers and project team members (as applicable)
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Support resource planning and capacity management across projects
Financial & Resource Management
• Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking
• Ensure efficient allocation of resources across competing priorities
• Provide transparency into project financials and performance
Governance & Continuous Improvement
• Promote best practices, standards, and tools for project management
• Contribute to the evolution of project governance and delivery frameworks
• Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes and outcomes
Who You Are:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in IT project/program management
• 5+ years of experience leading complex, enterprise-scale initiatives
• Proven track record of delivering technology projects in a matrixed, stakeholder-driven environment
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid)
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience in a law firm or professional services environment
• PMP, PgMP, Agile (Scrum/SAFe), or similar certification
• Familiarity with enterprise systems (e.g., document management, finance, HR, CRM platforms)

The target salary range for this position varies by location and is commensurate with relevant experience: Boston $137,100 - $205,700 | Los Angeles $147,400 - $221,100 | New York $147,400 - $221,100 | Orange County $147,400 - $221,100 | Philadelphia $134,300 - $201,500 | San Francisco $157,700 - $236,500 | Santa Monica $147,400 - $221,100 | Silicon Valley $157,700 - $236,500
