The Senior IT Systems Manager provides strategic oversight and hands-on leadership for the enterprise IT infrastructure. This role ensures the continuous availability, security, and scalability of server environments, cloud ecosystems, and data networks. The manager acts as a bridge between technical engineering teams and executive leadership to align technology deployment with business expansion.

Infrastructure & Operations Management
  • System Availability: Maintain 99.9% uptime for core enterprise infrastructure, servers, and business applications.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee provisioning, installation, configuration, patches, and maintenance of hardware and software.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs and deploy advanced logging tools to track system health and bottlenecks.
  • Storage & Backup: Architect scalable SAN/NAS storage arrays and secure, high-redundancy backup systems.
  • Cloud Environments: Advanced administration of AWS (EC2, S3, RDS) or Microsoft Azure (Entra ID, Virtual Machines).
  • Operating Systems: Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server (2019/2022) and Enterprise Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu).
  • Virtualization: Deep proficiency in VMware vSphere/ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V clustering.
  • Networking Protocols: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and enterprise firewalls.
  • Automation: Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate routine tasks.


Strategic Leadership & Team Supervision
  • Personnel Management: Recruit, mentor, and evaluate systems administrators, network engineers, and support staff.
  • Project Delivery: Lead complex IT migrations, data center consolidations, and software deployments on schedule.
  • Strategic Roadmap: Collaborate with the ITDC Leadership to design a 3-5-year technology modernization roadmap.
  • Process Standardization: Author and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) based on ITIL frameworks.


Security, Risk, & Compliance
  • Vulnerability Management: Run routine vulnerability scans, coordinate penetration testing, and execute remediation plans.
  • Disaster Recovery: Formulate, document, and test comprehensive Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BC) plans.


Vendor & Financial Management
  • Budget Accountability: Formulate and manage the annual IT infrastructure CapEx and OpEx budgets.
  • Vendor Negotiations: Evaluate third-party service providers, negotiate SLAs, and manage software licensing audits.
  • Asset Tracking: Maintain an accurate inventory of all corporate hardware, cloud instances, and software assets.


Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise IT environments, including 3+ years in a formal management or team lead role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading IT migrations, data center consolidations, and enterprise software deployments on schedule and within budget.
  • Advanced administration of at least one major cloud platform - AWS (EC2, S3, RDS) or Microsoft Azure (Entra ID, Virtual Machines).
  • Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server (2019/2022) and Enterprise Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu).
  • Deep proficiency in virtualization - VMware vSphere/ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V clustering.
  • Experience architecting and managing SAN/NAS storage arrays and high-redundancy backup systems.
  • Proven track record maintaining high-availability infrastructure (targeting 99.9% uptime) across servers and business-critical applications.
  • Experience developing and testing Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BC) plans.
  • Experience owning or contributing to IT CapEx/OpEx budgets and managing vendor SLAs and licensing.


Preferred Requirements:
  • Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, or an MBA with a technology focus.
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL Foundation/Managing Professional, AWS Solutions Architect / SysOps, Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or Solutions Expert, VMware VCP, CISSP, or PMP.
  • Multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud experience (both AWS and Azure) and cloud cost-optimization/FinOps practices.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
  • Experience building and executing a 3-5-year technology modernization roadmap in partnership with executive/ITDC leadership.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, automotive, or global matrixed enterprise environment.
