The Senior Manager, IB Finance plays a key role in conducting strategic analyses, identifying and sizing business opportunities and other key transformational initiatives in the Bank. This role plays a critical role in shaping how financial and business data is analyzed and transformed into scalable insights that directly inform the strategy in the Bank. Their responsibilities include working to ensure effective execution of Scotiabank's strategic plans, ensuring alignment across teams and facilitating the achievement of key business goals, through conducting analyses and delivering effective insights. The scope under this role includes thorough analysis of financial, business and market data and development and implementation of work-plans to improve and structurally transform Scotiabank's business performance across the Americas.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
  • Drive Strategic Initiatives: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance business performance, operational efficiency, and profitability in International Banking through data analysis and recommendations
  • Support Strategic and Financial Planning: Contribute to the development of short- and long-term strategies in International Banking by analyzing financial performance metrics, market trends, and competitive benchmarks to make recommendations to optimize performance in terms of costs, revenue, etc.
  • Own End-to-End Project Planning and Execution: Lead projects from planning through implementation, including defining objectives, managing timelines, identifying risks, managing stakeholders and coordinating next steps to ensure successful outcomes
  • Enable Cross-Functional and Cross-Country Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders to align strategic goals, streamline reporting processes, and ensure consistent execution of initiatives across regions and teams
  • Prepare Executive-Level Insights: Develop and deliver high-quality insights, including reports, presentations and recommendations for Finance, Business Line leadership, and other senior executives to support strategic decision-making
  • Foster a High-Performance Culture: Promote team engagement, inclusive collaboration, and continuous improvement in methodologies and practices

  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting, data & analytics, strategy, transformation, with focus on banking or financial services industry
  • Proven ability to drive business outcomes through structured data-driven insights, planning and prioritization
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills with the ability to interpret data and generate insights
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build dynamic financial models
  • Proven ability to thrive both independently and in collaborative, cross-functional environments
  • Strong structured and effective communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic business environment
  • Project management experience
  • Strong knowledge in financial analysis, corporate finance experience or FP&A is an asset
  • MBA and/or business/finance designation preferred
  • Spanish fluency is preferred
