Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the SCUSA Settlements /International Funding / Wire Transfers team in the U.S. ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
What You'll Do
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Responsible for daily Settlements for SCUSA/ BNS Houston equity/bond trades, both domestic and international. Also responsible for domestic and international Stock Loan settlements.
• Participant in related operations and business projects connected to the supported business lines. Works on improving internal Scotia systems to identify opportunities for more efficient operational workflows.
• Responsibilities for each include managing trade settlements, regulatory segregation requirements, tri-party settlement workflows, P/S activity, DWAC activity, conversions on ADR/ORD and 144A to REG S transfers, cash wire movements, fail monitoring and reporting, funding and cash Management, position and cash reconciliation review and resolution.
• Key contact for repo and other trading desks (Global Equity Derivatives, Debt Capital Markets, Emerging Markets, Prime Service, Group Treasury) on all matters including day to day operations and new business ventures.
• Face off on all internal/external audits.
• Provides MIS reports to upper management.
• Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
