What will you do?
  • Lead and Develop Talent: Inspire, coach, and grow a diverse team of governance and compliance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous learning.
  • Establish Governance Frameworks: Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of governance and compliance frameworks for Hybrid Cloud & Intelligent Operations, ensuring alignment with RBC's strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee Audit and Regulatory Readiness: Provide oversight for audit and regulatory activities, ensuring the team is prepared for internal and external audits, and that governance frameworks, policies, and controls are maintained to meet compliance standards.
  • Manage Risk and Controls: Direct risk assessments, maintain a risk register, and implement mitigation strategies to proactively address compliance activities and control testing.
  • Drive Strategic Alignment and Continuous Improvement: Champion the integration of sustainability, business process optimization, and automation initiatives to enhance governance and compliance practices across Hybrid Cloud & Intelligent Operations.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with cross-functional teams and facilitate hybrid cloud-related councils and authority meetings, ensuring effective communication, issue escalation, and alignment with governance frameworks.


What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:
  • 3+ years' experience in IT compliance, governance, assurance, or the financial services industry, with proven people management and leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, Google, IBM Cloud, or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Deep knowledge of risk management practices and Information Security standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27000, CSA).
  • In-depth experience with regulatory compliance programs (e.g., OSFI, GDPR, FedRAMP, SOC 2) and audit procedures.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven problem-solving, analytical, and research skills.
