Royal Caribbean Group's Global Marine Operations (GMO) Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Senior Manager, Fleet Technical Systems reporting to the Senior Director, Asset Management.

This position will work onsite in Miramar, Florida.

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Fleet Technical Systems is a land-based role that leads the enterprise-wide governance, strategy, and continuous development of Royal Caribbean Group's fleet technical systems environment. This role has end-to-end accountability for the CMMS platform (AMOS), its integrations with enterprise systems including Oracle Fusion, and the full lifecycle of digital tools that underpin fleet maintenance operations across 70+ vessels and multiple brands.

The position combines deep technical systems expertise with strategic leadership, managing a team of system administrators, coordinators, and the newbuild systems function. It serves as the primary interface between Marine Asset Management, IT, Procurement, and Newbuild on all matters related to technical systems architecture, data governance, and digital transformation. Where the technical departments own what happens on the vessels, this role owns the systems and data infrastructure that make fleet-wide visibility, compliance, and decision-making possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical Systems Strategy & Governance

  • Define and own the strategic roadmap for all fleet technical systems, with AMOS as the primary platform, ensuring alignment with Asset Management's cross-functional mandate and RCG's broader digital transformation agenda.
  • In collaboration with the Sr. Manager, Asset Management, establish and enforce enterprise-wide data governance standards across the CMMS environment, including equipment hierarchy integrity, work order protocols, maintenance history preservation, and configuration management.
  • Oversee system configuration, version management, and change control processes, ensuring that any modifications to AMOS content, architecture, or integrations are assessed, documented, and implemented with appropriate stakeholder alignment.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of AMOS system performance, data quality, and user adoption across all fleet segments and brands.

ERP & Systems Integration

  • Oversee the integration layer between AMOS and Oracle Fusion from the AMOS standpoint, ensuring alignment of budget codes, visibility of purchase orders and requisitions, and effective synchronization of procurement and maintenance workflows.
  • Serve as the technical authority for all systems integration projects involving AMOS, acting as the primary interface with IT on architecture decisions, API development, and data exchange protocols.
  • Identify and resolve integration failures or data inconsistencies that impact shipboard operations, procurement processing, or financial reporting, escalating where necessary with full situational awareness.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging digital tools, predictive analytics platforms, condition monitoring integrations, mobile AMOS applications, and AI-assisted maintenance support; in collaboration with IT, Data Science, and Asset Management leadership.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, develop, and performance-manage a team comprising the Manager Technical Systems (Operations), Manager Technical Systems (Newbuild), Systems Supervisors, and Coordinators, ensuring clear accountability, skills development, and succession depth within the function.
  • Establish a team culture of operational discipline, continuous improvement, and cross-functional service orientation; where the function exists to enable ships, not to administer systems.
  • Build structured knowledge management practices to reduce single-point-of-failure risk on critical system expertise, ensuring institutional knowledge is documented and distributed across the team.

Newbuild & Fleet Expansion

  • Oversee the Newbuild Systems function, ensuring that all new vessel deliveries are commissioned with complete, accurate, and operationally-ready system configurations aligned to fleet standards.
  • In collaboration with the Manager, Technical Documentation & Fleet Standards, interface with Newbuild project teams, shipyards, and OEM representatives to capture technical documentation, equipment hierarchies, and maintenance requirements during the build phase and translate these into production-ready system content.
  • Establish and maintain a repeatable onboarding methodology for new vessel classes, reducing commissioning risk and accelerating time-to-operational-readiness on each delivery.

Stakeholder Interface & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the primary GMO interface to IT on all fleet technical systems matters, representing operational requirements in system architecture discussions, vendor negotiations, and technology roadmap planning.
  • Partner with Procurement on the integration of AMOS requisitioning workflows with supply chain processes, ensuring that technical demand signals translate accurately and efficiently into procurement actions.
  • Support Asset Management leadership with data, analytics, and system-generated insights that inform lifecycle strategy, maintenance program decisions, and executive reporting.
  • Engage with classification societies, flag state representatives, and OEMs as required in connection with technical documentation, compliance records, and system audit requirements.

Performance Reporting & Analytics

  • Design and maintain the KPI and reporting framework for fleet technical systems performance, covering data quality metrics, AMOS utilization rates, work order compliance, integration health, and system availability.
  • Develop custom reports and dashboards within AMOS that provide actionable, decision-ready insights for Asset Management, Fleet Technical Operations, and senior leadership.
  • Conduct periodic system audits across the fleet to validate configuration integrity, identify data gaps, and drive corrective actions that protect the reliability of maintenance records.

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure that the AMOS environment supports full compliance with ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC, and classification society survey and certification requirements, including the configuration of compliance tracking, certificate matrices, and statutory inspection schedules.
  • Partner with the Manager Technical Documentation & Fleet Standards to maintain oversight of technical documentation standards within the systems environment, ensuring that manuals, drawings, and regulatory records are version-controlled and accessible to both shipboard and shoreside personnel.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution (international equivalents accepted).
  • Professional certifications in project management (PMP), CMMS administration, or maritime operations are considered a strong advantage.

Experience - Required

  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in maritime technical operations or technical systems management, with at least 3-5 years in a shore-based leadership role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in AMOS or equivalent CMMS, including system administration, configuration, integration management, and enterprise-level governance.
  • Proven track record managing technical systems across fleets of 20+ vessels, with accountability for data integrity, system performance, and user adoption.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP integration, specifically involving maintenance and procurement workflows (Oracle Fusion or equivalent).

Experience - Highly Desirable

  • Background as a Technical Superintendent, Fleet Engineer, or Staff Chief Engineer, providing direct shipboard operational context for technical systems decision-making.
  • Experience leading CMMS implementation or migration projects, including data cleansing, stakeholder training, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Familiarity with reliability engineering principles - RCM, FMEA, CBM, and how these translate into CMMS configuration and reporting.
  • Exposure to newbuild commissioning processes and the integration of technical documentation into operational CMMS environments.

Technical Competencies

  • Advanced proficiency in AMOS maintenance management software, including component hierarchy design, planned maintenance configuration, work order management, and analytics.
  • Solid understanding of ERP integration architecture and data exchange principles, particularly in the context of procurement and financial systems.
  • Working knowledge of maritime regulations including SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, MLC, and classification society survey requirements as they relate to technical documentation and maintenance records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel and Power BI skills for data analysis and performance reporting.
  • Familiarity with SQL or equivalent query tools for database interrogation and data validation is advantageous.

Personal Attributes

  • Strategic thinker who understands how technical systems decisions cascade into operational and commercial outcomes at fleet scale.
  • Strong people leader with the ability to develop both generalist managers and deep technical specialists within the same team.
  • Clear communicator who can translate complex systems issues into crisp operational language for senior stakeholders.
  • High accountability and low tolerance for data ambiguity - recognizes that system integrity is the foundation of everything Asset Management delivers.
  • Comfortable operating in a matrixed environment with multiple cross-functional dependencies and competing priorities.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office-based position within GMO, Marine Technology.
  • Regular travel required (approximately 10-20%), including vessel visits, newbuild shipyard attendance, and system go-live support.
  • Availability for off-hours consultation to support critical system or operational issues affecting fleet operations.
  • International travel across global fleet operating regions and coordination across multiple time zones.
