Job Summary:

Support of financial systems including the daily management and coordination of consistent integration of Legacy and Heritage systems into SAP S4 Hana. Responsible to drive standards, controls, usage, and governance across the Walgreens Boots Alliance Organization. This lead role is responsible for working across multiple towers including finance, accounting, and IT to deliver successful results, evaluate efforts, share learnings, and coach and mentor team members.

This role is based in our Deerfield, IL office and is on-site four days a week.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead month-end production close process in SAP and across various financial systems to ensure successful SAP System integration and WBA business decision making ability.
  • Execute twice daily process chain to load and reconcile data between various financial systems
  • Investigate, communicate, and close out mapping errors, exceptions, & open items by partnering with business, IT, and leadership
  • Manage daily journal reconciliation process and provide timely resolution for any variances identified
  • Oversee preparation and execution of various close activities performed by retained staff and managed services partners
  • Support audit requests and maintain SOX compliance
  • Own finance master data creation and changes across RPU Walgreens Accounting governance framework; Develop international governance framework for Monthly code block creation and reporting maintenance
  • Establish and maintain US GAAP and Operation Code Block policies and practices
  • Lead monthly SAP COA governance process including chart of accounts, profit/cost centers, company codes, and trading partners
  • Manage various account and profit/cost center hierarchies to meet unique internal managerial reporting requirements
  • Ensure successful integration of SAP finance master data elements across various subledgers, legacy and heritage financial systems and applications
  • Provide business system production and development support for the Winshuttle application
  • Maintain master data and perform semi-monthly to monthly deployment of templates across various modules (GL, Tax, AR, AP, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting, Inventory, Supply Chain supporting 300+ end users:
  • Simplify existing and develop new capabilities by collaborating with IT, business and vendor
  • Support user experience, including access setup, troubleshooting, SOP development and training
  • Perform the System Admin function for the WBA BlackLine platform (Journals, Accounts Recs, Matching & Tasks utilized by ~650 accounting and finance professionals)
  • Review and approve mapping updates, user re-assignment requests and master data/period maintenance performed by Genpact team members
  • Manage various journal integration methods across multiple ERPs - SAP S/4 Hana, SAP P1A, SAP PEC, SAP ECC6, SAP B1, SAGE 200, IT2, and Navision
  • Support user experience, including access setup, deactivations, troubleshooting, application functionality, SOP development, and training
  • Respond to, investigate, and provide guidance on incidents, complex issues and end-user escalations that require further analyses and access not available to Genpact team
  • Support internal and external audit requests and maintain SOX compliance
  • Provide cross-functional support for Financial Systems, Accounting and Finance teams
  • Provide training and guidance to WBA Line Managers on how to effectively manage offshore staff, from onboarding to offboarding
  • Facilitate IT landscape changes for Genpact RtR, including the recent Windows10 upgrade, VDI enhancements, etc.
  • Collaborate with IT to support any changes as required by the business (Onboarding additional businesses like iA, Shared drive expansion, encourage use of available technology such as OneDrive/Teams)
  • Perform system testing as needed for periodic updates
  • Provide system support to other applications such as Concur, Ariba, ReconNet, Integrity and PTMS

External Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 4 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology OR High School/GED and at least 7 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology
  • At least four 4 years of progressive experience in leading Finance technology projects, teams and/or initiatives in a technically and operationally complex business
  • At least three 3 years of SAP Retail experience
  • Demonstrated experience with ensuring effective Change Management development and execution
  • Proven capability in developing and delivering PowerPoint presentations to various levels within an organization including executives
  • At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace
  • At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership


Preferred Qualifications

  • Seven (7) years of progressive experience in leading Finance technology projects, teams and/or initiatives in a technically and operationally complex business
  • At least two (2) years of ERP experience (Lawson/Oracle/Workday/NetSuite)
  • At least two (2) years of Winshuttle and BlackLine experience
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and supporting successful SAP technology solutions
  • Successful leadership in executing continuous improvement and transformation programs enabling efficiency, effectiveness and tangible business benefit
  • Project management certification
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification
  • MBA
