SummaryThe Senior Manager, Finance Transformation is a Finance leadership position responsible for the transformation, modernization and continuous improvement of the Finance function, the financial operations of the corporate distributor in the Lower Mainland (LOWM) and our awnings subsidiary Rolltec, as well as selected financial management tasks within corporate.
The successful candidate will combine strong accounting and financial management capabilities with demonstrated ability to improve processes, implement technology and lead organizational change.
Position ResponsibilitiesFinance Transformation- Develop and execute a Finance transformation roadmap in partnership with the CFO and Controller.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate manual processes, duplicate work, unnecessary spreadsheets and inefficient workflows.
- Lead Finance process redesign and automation initiatives.
- Identify and implement appropriate AI and automation opportunities.
- Improve the efficiency, accuracy and timeliness of month-end close and other recurring Finance processes.
- Develop and maintain Finance process documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Establish measures of Finance efficiency and track improvements.
- Lead cross-functional Finance improvement initiatives involving Operations, Sales, IT and other departments.
- Ensure that process improvements strengthen financial controls and information quality.
ERP, Macola & Finance Technology- Act as the Finance business lead for optimization of Macola and related Finance systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve the use and configuration of existing systems.
- Lead requirements definition, testing and implementation of Finance-related system improvements.
- Evaluate new Finance technologies and recommend appropriate applications.
- Lead implementation of approved Finance technology initiatives.
- Improve integration and flow of financial data between systems.
- Develop and maintain a Finance technology and automation roadmap.
Change Management & Team Development- Lead implementation and adoption of new Finance processes and technologies.
- Train and support Finance personnel on new systems, processes and tools.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement within Finance.
- Work with Finance leadership to identify opportunities to improve team capability and efficiency.
- Establish objectives and measurable outcomes for transformation initiatives.
LOWM & Rolltec - Finance Leadership- Assume overall Finance responsibility for LOWM and Rolltec.
- Manage and develop the Accounting Specialist responsible for the two entities.
- Ensure that LOWM/Rolltec accounting processes, reconciliations, tax filings and month-end close activities are completed accurately and on time.
- Review monthly financial statements and financial results for LOWM/Rolltec.
- Monitor working capital, cash requirements, receivables and other key financial measures.
- Identify and investigate significant financial or operational variances.
- Ensure appropriate financial controls are operating within LOWM/Rolltec.
- Review significant journal entries, reconciliations and unusual transactions.
- Coordinate with the Controller on material or complex accounting matters.
- Liaise with management and operational personnel within LOWM/Rolltec regarding financial matters.
- Communicate LOWM/Rolltec financial results and significant issues to the CFO.
Corporate Cash Management & Banking Administration- Own day-to-day and short-term cash management activities across the business.
- Maintain timely cash position and cash-flow reporting.
- Coordinate operational cash requirements between Corporate, LOWM/Rolltec and other business units.
- Coordinate routine intercompany cash transfers.
- Monitor short-term liquidity requirements and escalate significant issues to the CFO.
- Coordinate routine banking administration and documentation.
- Work with the Controller to ensure accurate accounting and reconciliation of cash activities.
Corporate Insurance & Risk Administration- Coordinate the administrative aspects of the Company's insurance program with the CFO and insurance broker.
- Maintain insurance schedules, renewal information and required documentation.
- Coordinate information required for annual insurance renewals.
- Assist with administration of insurance claims.
- Identify operational risk issues requiring consideration by the CFO.
- Ensure insurance-related administrative deadlines are met.
Corporate Finance Support- Provide backup and additional capacity to the Controller when required.
- Participate in selected Corporate accounting projects and month-end activities.
- Assist with complex accounting or process issues where appropriate.
- Provide Finance project leadership where initiatives cross Corporate and LOWM/Rolltec operations.
Leadership- Lead, coach and develop the Accounting Specialist.
- Establish clear performance expectations and accountability.
- Ensure appropriate cross-training and absence coverage.
Position Requirements- Strong combination of accounting, financial management, systems and process-improvement capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects from concept through implementation.
- Strong understanding of accounting processes, financial statements and internal controls.
- Strong ERP and systems aptitude, with the ability to translate business requirements into system improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent project management, communication and change-management capabilities.
- Ability to manage both strategic initiatives and hands-on operational responsibilities.
- Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to develop employees.
- Experience with AI, automation, BI or other Finance technologies is highly desirable.
- Manufacturing and/or distribution experience is an asset.
Academic Qualifications and Work Experience- CPA designation or equivalent combination of accounting and financial management experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, operations finance, systems or process improvement.
- Demonstrated experience leading finance transformation, technology implementation or significant process improvement initiatives.
