Job purpose

The Senior Manager, Finance Operations leads financial planning, reporting, and performance management to support informed decision-making and sustainable growth. This role ensures accurate budgeting, forecasting, and data integrity while delivering actionable insights on cost optimization and profitability. Partnering with senior leadership and business units, the role drives financial discipline, enhances analytics and visibility, and continuously improves planning processes to align with organizational objectives.

Duties and responsibilities

Financial Performance Management
  • Prepare the monthly management P&L in Anaplan, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with organizational reporting standards; analyze key cost and revenue drivers impacting performance.
  • Own Anaplan data integrity, master data governance and structural flow.
  • Lead rolling sales forecasts, scenario modeling, and long-range planning to support strategic decision-making.
  • Produce monthly budget-to-actual reports with detailed variance analysis, highlighting risks, trends, and opportunities; present results to Business Unit leaders.
  • Deliver consolidated financial reporting and executive summaries for monthly reviews, including key insights and business implications.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating cross-functionally to develop aligned and realistic financial plans.
  • Continuously enhance planning processes to improve forecast accuracy, efficiency, and stakeholder engagement.


Financial & Operational Execution
  • Drive expense management and cost savings initiatives through detailed analysis of cost structures, spending patterns, and operational efficiencies; implement sustainable cost optimization strategies while maintaining business performance.
  • Analyze customer transactions to identify revenue leakage and recommend corrective actions to improve margins.
  • Develop dashboards and KPIs to increase visibility into financial and operational performance, enabling data-driven decisions.
  • Provide actionable insights to optimize resource allocation, enhance margins, and support overall financial performance improvement.
  • Calculate royalty payments and profit sharing for 3rd Party supplier agreements.
  • Manage R&D project expenditure tracking and financial oversight.
  • Support the annual preparation of SR&ED documentation and schedules.


Additional responsibility (Only applicable to customer facing roles)

Report any adverse event received from customers for company products to the pharmacovigilance department / Drug Safety on the same day or within 1 business day

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is required
  • CPA designation mandatory
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Financial Planning Analysis and Performance Management is required, preferably in pharma manufacturing / CPG industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power Query, Power BI, financial modeling, and ERP/FP&A systems is required
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, accounting principles, and performance management
  • Strong business acumen, problem-solving and communication skills is required.

The presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $112,500 to $137,500. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; RRSP savings plan; and the employee assistance program. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.
