The Senior Manager, Digital Acquisition (Cards & Business Banking) leads the digital acquisition strategy and execution for BMO's Credit Cards and Business Banking portfolios. The role is accountable for driving customer growth, acquisition efficiency, and revenue generation through the development and optimization of integrated digital acquisition programs across paid media, owned channels and emerging acquisition platforms.

As the Digital Acquisition lead for Cards and Business Banking, the Senior Manager translates portfolio objectives into measurable acquisition outcomes, leveraging first-party data, audience activation, advanced measurement, testing frameworks, and AdTech/MarTech capabilities to maximize performance. The role leads a team of digital marketing professionals and partners closely with marketing, product, analytics, technology, channel, agency, and line-of-business stakeholders to deliver industry-leading acquisition results and continuously evolve BMO's digital marketing

Acquisition Strategy & Performance

  • Leads the digital acquisition strategy and execution for the Credit Cards and Business Banking portfolios, driving customer growth, revenue generation, and acquisition efficiency.
  • Accountable for end-to-end acquisition performance, including customer acquisition, conversion, marketing efficiency, return on investment, and revenue outcomes.
  • Develops and executes acquisition roadmaps aligned to business objectives and growth priorities.
  • Provides strategic advice and recommendations to marketing counterparts and leadership on acquisition opportunities, investment decisions, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Identifies emerging trends, market opportunities, and competitive developments to inform strategy and decision-making.

Audience Strategy & Activation

  • Develops audience acquisition and activation strategies leveraging first-party data, audience segmentation, and advanced targeting capabilities to improve acquisition efficiency and customer quality.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve audience reach, personalization, approval rates, and conversion through data-driven targeting and optimization.
  • Partners with analytics, audience, and marketing technology teams to strengthen audience intelligence and activation capabilities.

Campaign Performance & Optimization

  • Leads the planning, execution, optimization, and measurement of acquisition programs across search, social, display, programmatic, affiliate, partnership, and emerging digital channels.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in performance marketing and digital acquisition channels, providing leadership and guidance across the organization.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve campaign performance, marketing effectiveness, and acquisition outcomes through continuous optimization.
  • Oversees agency and external partner relationships to ensure successful delivery of business objectives and performance targets.

Measurement, Reporting and Testing

  • Establishes measurement frameworks and success metrics that quantify business impact and support data-driven decision making.
  • Reports on performance accordingly
  • Champions a test-and-learn culture through structured experimentation, incrementality testing, creative testing, landing page optimization, and audience testing.
  • Defines business requirements for digital marketing measurement, reporting, and acquisition capabilities.
  • Conducts and oversees analyses to measure campaign effectiveness, customer acquisition impact, revenue contribution, and marketing efficiency.

AdTech and MarTech Innovation

  • Maintains a strong focus on emerging AdTech, MarTech, AI-driven marketing capabilities, and industry best practices that can accelerate acquisition performance.
  • Partners with marketing, technology, analytics, privacy, and digital teams to evolve acquisition capabilities and improve marketing effectiveness.
  • Recommends and supports the implementation of new tools, technologies, processes, and operating models that drive growth and operational efficiency.
  • Leads complex initiatives and change management activities associated with the adoption of new capabilities for the Cards and Business Banking businesses and ways of working.

Stakeholder Management & Governance

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with business, marketing, product, analytics, technology, and agency stakeholders.
  • Influences and aligns stakeholders across multiple functions to achieve business objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Ensures acquisition activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements, privacy standards, risk frameworks, and marketing policies.
  • Operates as a trusted advisor and recognized subject matter expert, providing guidance to senior leaders and stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in digital marketing, performance marketing, customer acquisition, growth marketing, or a related field.
  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Analytics, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a complex, dynamic organization.
  • Deep expertise in digital acquisition channels including paid search, paid social, display/programmatic, affiliate marketing, and emerging digital acquisition platforms.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing measurement, experimentation, digital analytics, audience activation, AdTech, and MarTech capabilities.
  • Proven ability to leverage data, customer insights, and performance measurement to drive business decisions and acquisition outcomes.
  • Experience influencing and partnering with senior stakeholders across business, marketing, analytics, technology, and external agency teams.
  • Knowledge of financial services and/or experience working in a regulated industry is an asset.

Salary:

$85,500.00 - $185,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
