The Data and AI Policies & Enablement Senior Manager role is a unique role that will drive immediate and global impact to help lead the formation and build the foundations of the new Data Strategy & Governance Office (DSGO) at Deloitte Global.
The Senior Manager, Data Policies & Enablement is responsible for developing enterprise data and AI policies and monitoring organizational compliance by supporting the execution of data risk management practices, working closely with data and AI control owners, risk, and technology teams.
The role acts as a bridge between policy and execution, ensuring that data and AI governance frameworks are effectively embedded into day-to-day operations and risks related to lifecycle management including but not limited to identification, usage, quality, model selection, decisioning, privacy, retention, and compliance are identified, assessed, and mitigated.
Key responsibilities include:
Policy Development & Interpretation
- Identify requirements for policy definition to align with the requirements of internal cyber security standards, and external standards and frameworks like GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC2, NIST Standards, and the EU AI Act
- Develop and maintain global data and AI policies, standards, and data and AI policy frameworks in alignment with data and AI maturity across the enterprise
- Conduct assessments, identify gaps, and lead with recommendations to inform policy, risk and controls environment
- Support policy lifecycle activities including review, updates, enhancements, and alignment with evolving regulations and business and client needs
Data Risk Management & Assessment
- Lead the identification, assessment, and documentation of data-related risks and AI-related risks, including non-compliance risks
- Develop and maintain risk assessment frameworks aligned to enterprise standards
- Continuously assess risks associated with data and AI capabilities, e.g. data availability, data quality, data usage, data retention, AI model performance, AI enabled decisioning, and AI product development
Compliance Monitoring & Reporting
- Develop and execute monitoring frameworks to assess compliance with data and AI policies
- Design and implement standardized processes and tooling to support policy adherence monitoring, risk assessments, and data collection from control owners
- Establish KPIs, metrics, and dashboards to measure compliance levels and control effectiveness and communicate to data and AI control owners
Support Data Owners, Data Control Owners & Stakeholders
- Partner with data and AI owners, stewards, and control owners to translate policy requirements to design and implement compliance processes
- Act as a trusted advisor, helping stakeholders embed governance into operational workflows
- Support control design, certification activities, data quality remediation, AI model remediation, and related governance processes
- Participate in governance forums and working groups to ensure alignment of policies, risks, and controls
About the teamThe DSGO is responsible for building an integrated strategy and operating model to effectively and consistently manage global data and AI throughout its lifecycle to more effectively serve our clients, meet business objectives and foster innovation. The team is leading initiatives to develop a data and AI strategy and establish consistent data governance, data management, and AI product development and governance practices at Deloitte Global, enabled by technology. The team reports to the Global Chief Information Officer under the Technology Strategy and Architecture portfolio.
Enough about us, let's talk about youDo you possess the following?:
- Six to Ten years of experience in data and AI governance, data policy development, and risk management and monitoring
- Strong understanding of data and AI policies (privacy, security, governance), risk frameworks and control design, and regulatory environment impacting data and AI e.g. GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC2, NIST Standards, and the EU AI Act
- Experience implementing risk and compliance processes at scale, ideally in a global or federated organization
- Familiarity with data and AI governance tools (catalog, quality, lineage, model decisioning etc.), cloud data platforms, and AI/data governance considerations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to interpret complex policies and translate into execution
- Stakeholder management across business and technical teams
- Process design and operationalization expertise
- Communication skills to simplify complex governance concepts
Total RewardsThe salary range for this position is $104,000 - $215,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
