Position Summary...

What you'll do...
Walmart Global Data Foundation is seeking a Senior Manager for Data Ventures Data Engineering Team to lead the architecture, design, and hands-on development of scalable, cloud-native, AI powered data platforms that power our data products. This is a builder's role: you'll blend deep technical leadership with people leadership writing production-quality code, owning the architectural integrity of critical services, and guiding a team of engineers who genuinely love owning what they build. You'll partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business problems into reliable, governed, customer-centric data products, while championing engineering , operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the team.

What you'll do:
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable data engineering solutions to support business analytics and AI initiatives.
  • Oversee data integration, transformation, and quality assurance processes across data sources and platforms.
  • Implement and maintain data governance practices ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective data strategies and architectures.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams, promoting best practices in coding, testing, and data modeling.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance data infrastructure and automation capabilities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data pipelines, ensuring reliability and performance at scale.


What you'll bring:
  • Lead the architecture, design, and hands-on development of scalable, cloud-native, AI-powered data platforms and products.
  • Write production-quality code and implement complex, distributed systems - this role stays close to the code, not just the roadmap.
  • Architect end-to-end data pipelines that integrate data sources into reliable, data products for merchants and suppliers.
  • Establish data governance, automated data quality frameworks, and compliance practices that scale with the platform.
  • Champion DevOps, CI/CD, reliability, observability drive code reviews, incident resolution, and system performance optimization as a hands-on technical leader.
  • Experience leading engineering teams, mentoring engineers, and managing multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...
