Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Senior Manager, CUSO Operational Risk Reporting will report to the Senior Director, Head of US IT Risk Operations. The US IT Risk team is responsible for providing a comprehensive view of IT Risk across Royal Bank of Canada's US business units - Capital Markets, Wealth Management, Global Asset Management, City National Bank, and RBC Bank. The team is responsible for overseeing risk management practices, reporting to the US Board, conducting risk assessments, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place, and engaging with US regulators on continuous monitoring, exams, and remediation programs. As the Senior Manager, US Operational Risk Reporting specializing in risk monitoring, you will play a vital role in supporting the US Operational Risk Program.
What will you do?Risk Assessment & Analysis- Work across the organization to gather and catalog data and controls to support IT Risk Assessment processes
- Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify control weaknesses or gaps, collaborate with department managers and internal sponsors to correct deficiencies, and determine root causes of identified issues
- Analyze and calibrate assessment results and provide recommendations for risk mitigation
- Analyze operational risk events to understand and investigate why incidents occurred to identify underlying process, system, or control issues
- Monitor patterns in operational risk events to identify systemic vulnerabilities
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration- Collaborate with stakeholders on IT risk-related initiatives to provide recommendations and guidance to manage risks within the Bank's risk appetite
- Seek and promote innovative or improved methods of delivery and implement best practices aligned with enterprise-wide Operational Risk and Regulatory Compliance Frameworks
- Submit reports to the CUSO Governance team for distribution to committees, boards and other governance bodies.
What do you need to succeed? Must-have- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT risk management, preferably in large financial services firms
- Prior experience developing/managing Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
- Prior experience in IT Risk Management within the cyber security space
- Understanding of IT governance
