Purpose

The Senior Manager, Credit Solutions Strategic Initiatives & Analytics plays a key role in advancing Private Banking's credit strategy by supporting the development, implementation and continuous improvement of credit policies, lending programs, processes, and strategic initiatives.

Working closely with Credit Structuring, Global Risk Management, Adjudication Centre of Expertise (ACE), Operations, Compliance, Technology, Legal, and Relationship Management teams, the incumbent is responsible for leading and supporting initiatives that enhance credit delivery, improve operational efficiency, strengthen risk management practices, and support profitable lending growth.

The role serves as a subject matter expert on Private Banking lending policies, procedures and credit delivery processes, providing recommendations and insights that support business objectives while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, internal policies, portfolio objectives and the Bank's risk appetite.

In addition, the incumbent leverages analytics, reporting and business insights to support decision-making, monitor performance, identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to the successful execution of Private Banking's credit strategy.

What you will be doing:
  • Support the development, maintenance and enhancement of Private Banking credit policies, procedures, guidelines and lending frameworks to support business growth, client experience and sound risk management.
  • Identify policy gaps, process inefficiencies and opportunities to enhance credit delivery, providing recommendations that align with the Bank's risk appetite and strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of business cases, policy proposals and strategic initiatives designed to improve lending capabilities and support evolving client needs.
  • Support the development and implementation of new Private Banking lending programs, credit solutions and collateral frameworks, including obtaining stakeholder alignment and required approvals.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on lending policies, collateral eligibility, pricing guidelines, exception management and credit structuring practices.
  • Support the ongoing review and enhancement of pricing guidelines and profitability models to ensure competitiveness and consistency across markets.
  • Lead and support strategic initiatives that improve credit delivery, operational effectiveness, client experience and lending profitability.
  • Develop implementation plans, coordinate stakeholder activities and monitor progress to ensure initiatives are delivered successfully and within established timelines.
  • Support the design, testing, implementation and operationalization of new processes, tools and workflows to improve credit delivery and business performance.
  • Lead or participate in process improvement initiatives, including digitization, automation and workflow optimization projects.
  • Monitor adherence to established credit processes and identify gaps, inconsistencies or emerging risks, recommending corrective actions and enhancements where appropriate.
  • Partner with Risk, Operations, Compliance, Technology, Legal and frontline teams to ensure solutions are practical, sustainable and aligned with business objectives.
  • Support the development and delivery of communication, training and change management activities to facilitate successful adoption of new policies, programs and processes.
  • Produce analysis, reporting and business insights to support strategic decision-making, initiative prioritization and senior management reporting.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, portfolio trends, service levels and operational metrics to identify opportunities, risks and areas for improvement.
  • Analyze credit, portfolio and operational data to support policy recommendations, strategic initiatives and business cases.
  • Identify emerging trends and provide recommendations to enhance business performance, client experience and risk management outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across Credit Structuring, Relationship Management, Risk, Operations, Compliance, Technology and other key stakeholder groups.
  • Represent Private Banking in discussions related to credit policy, process enhancements, operational effectiveness and lending initiatives.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline required. MBA, CFA, CPA, PMP or other relevant professional designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience within financial services, including experience in credit risk, lending, credit policy, underwriting, credit structuring, wealth management, strategic initiatives or related disciplines.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects, business transformation initiatives and process improvement programs within a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Strong understanding of lending policies, credit risk management principles, credit adjudication processes, credit documentation and collateral frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop business cases, evaluate opportunities, identify risks and provide practical recommendations that support business objectives and sound risk management.
  • Strong change management skills with experience supporting the implementation and adoption of new processes, policies, programs and technology solutions.
  • Analytical and data-driven, with the ability to interpret complex information, identify trends and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, Excel and other business intelligence and reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex issues and support informed decision-making.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships and drive outcomes across multiple business lines and support functions.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering results in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
  • Knowledge of the Wealth Management business and the needs of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, including an understanding of customized lending and credit structuring solutions.
  • Good understanding of the Bank's lending policies, practices and procedures, as well as economic, regulatory and market factors that may impact lending activities and portfolio performance.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
