Job Description:Team Overview The Corporate and Public Affairs (CAPA) department aims to inspire and connect our clients, communities and colleagues through communications, conversations and advocacy that enrich lives, deliver business outcomes and enhance our brand. We deliver best-in-class external and internal communications to help differentiate TD in the market and elevate our brand.
Role Overview We're looking for a strategic, hands-on communications leader to support the SEVP and Global Head, Client Experience and Enterprise Transformation and help shape the narrative for his organization at an exciting time.
This role leads communications strategy and execution across a broad portfolio including client experience, transformation, brand and marketing, and enterprise real estate. These are exciting areas of our business that shape how we show up as a brand, business, and employer. You'll partner with senior leaders to turn complex business priorities into clear communications that resonate with colleagues, executives, media, and other stakeholders.
This role may be a fit if you:
- Can move fluidly between strategy and execution, and able to zoom out and shape narrative, then zoom in and write, edit and deliver high-quality work quickly.
- Pay attention to what's happening in the world and use that outside lens to push your thinking further.
- Know how to make communications feel simple, human, and useful.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to: - Own communications strategy for an SEVP's broad, high-visibility portfolio, from narrative development to stakeholder messaging to media moments.
- Build and execute integrated communications across client experience, transformation, brand and marketing, and enterprise real estate.
- Turn complex ideas and initiatives into clear, engaging communications that resonate with different audiences.
- Help teams communicate clearly through moments of transformation, building understanding and alignment across the organization.
- Identify opportunities for proactive storytelling that highlight progress, impact, and the work behind the strategy.
- Bring strong judgment to sensitive issues, competing priorities, and fast-moving situations.
- Measure what's working, learn quickly, and continuously improve how communications are planned and delivered.
- Look for smarter, simpler, and more effective ways to do the work.
What you'll bring: - Significant experience in corporate communications, media relations, public affairs, or a related field.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to make complex topics simple, clear, and compelling.
- Strong strategic instincts and business judgment.
- Experience supporting senior leaders and advising on high-visibility communications
- A track record of building trusted relationships and working effectively across teams and functions.
- Experience supporting transformation, change, or other complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities without losing attention to detail.
- Comfort working in fast-moving environments where priorities shift and ambiguity is part of the job.
- Sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive issues.
- Experience in brand, marketing, client experience or real estate-related communications is an asset.
What success looks like: You're a sharp, thoughtful senior communications professional with strong instincts and a high bar for quality. You connect the dots, simplify complexity, and create communications that help people understand what matters and why. You build trust quickly, work well across functions, and bring calm, clarity and momentum to your work. You're equally comfortable being strategic and hands-on, and are energized by the chance to help shape the narrative for a portfolio with broad visibility and impact.
