POSITION TITLE

Senior Manager, Content Strategy

POSITION LOCATION

Strong preference for individuals in Richmond, VA.  We will consider exceptional candidates outside of these regions.

YOUR ROLE

Are you a strategic storyteller who views content as a connected, high-performing ecosystem? We are looking for a Senior Manager, Content Strategy to become the master blueprint designer of our multi-channel consumer journey.
In this role, you will hold the keys to our consumer content engine, architecting how written, video, and audio stories connect to drive brand trust and business growth. Sitting at the strategic center of our organization, you will translate macro business goals, product innovations, and consumer insights into a unified, high-velocity editorial roadmap. If you are a visionary planner who loves building content frameworks, exploring innovative AI-driven workflow efficiencies, and collaborating with cross-functional leaders to shape a world-class consumer experience, we want you to lead the way.

What you will be doing

Content Architecture & Calendar Governance

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-channel consumer content strategy aligned with overarching brand and business goals, serving as the executive stakeholder and strategic owner of our brand podcast.
  • Establish, maintain, and socialize a centralized master content calendar to ensure cross-functional visibility, eliminate silos, and align content rollouts with major product launches and marketing campaigns.
  • Drive multi-format content production across written, video, and audio channels, with a strategic focus on expanding the video content library while occasionally pitching and producing original pieces.
  • Design frameworks that outline how a single core content asset (e.g., a major video or guide) should be broken down into modular pieces for various marketing channels.

Content Creation

  • Actively write and produce high-quality content firsthand, balancing strategic leadership with direct execution.
  • Mentor and lead a small, agile team of internal content writers and occasional
    external contractors.
  • Partner with the AI engineering experts to architect and implement efficiency
frameworks (e.g., prompt templates, co-pilots, automated workflows) that empower content creators to efficiently scale localization, formatting variations, and distribution copies.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with Product, Customer Experience, and Lifecycle Marketing teams to support integrated marketing campaigns that drive awareness and conversion.
  • Partner with the SEO/AEO team to implement best practices that maximize organic visibility, search rankings, and long-tail traffic.
  • Define, maintain, and evolve our consumer-facing brand voice and style guide, ensuring consistency across all platforms and campaigns.

Analytics & Scale

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on content performance KPIs (e.g., traffic, engagement, retention, and conversion rates)

What you bring

You are an organizational whiz with a deep understanding of marketing content systems. You excel in matrixed organizations, love turning high-level business goals into actionable content roadmaps, and are excited by the potential of AI to scale content operational efficiency.

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience specifically in content strategy, information architecture, or content operations within a DTC/B2C environment. (At least 1–2 years managing direct reports or contractors).
  • Master Planner Mindset: Proven experience designing complex, multi-channel editorial calendars and content matrices across written, video, and audio channels.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Strong stakeholder management skills. You know how to sit with Product, CX, and AEO/SEO leaders, understand their needs, and integrate them into a singular roadmap.
  • AI Forward-Thinking & Curiosity: An open and experimental mindset toward generative AI. You don’t need to be an engineer, but you are eager to collaborate with tech partners to pilot AI tools for content planning, asset mapping, and workflow automation.
  • Systems Thinking: A strong understanding of customer journey mapping, content management systems (CMS), and how content architecture impacts SEO and user experience.

The base salary pay range for this role starts at a minimum rate of $102,700 up to the maximum of $202,400. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible to participate in an incentive plan. The incentive plan is based on performance and the target earning opportunity is 15% of your base compensation. The final determination on base pay for this position will be based on multiple factors at the time of this job posting including but not limited to geographic location, experience, and qualifications to ensure pay equity within the organization.
