Full Job Description
Reddit's communities thrive when we can identify where growth is possible, understand what is driving or constraining it, and turn those insights into clear product and operating choices. We are looking for a Senior Manager, Community Growth & Intelligence to build this capability for the Community Growth organization. As a strategic and analytical force multiplier, you will turn open-ended opportunities into structured problems, quantitative opportunity sizes, investment cases, and executable plans. You will connect Community and Product strategy, establish operating and measurement rhythms, and make our impact clear to senior leaders. This is a hands-on player-coach role. You will initially lead a small team while staying close to the analysis, synthesis, and execution. The role sits at the intersection of community growth, community marketing, product strategy, and business operations. It is not a traditional community management role or a data science role. You should be comfortable working directly with data and going deep with Data Science partners without needing to be a data scientist. What You'll Do • Own the Community Growth intelligence agenda by identifying the highest-value strategic questions, prioritizing analytical work, and ensuring insights inform team and product roadmaps • Frame ambiguous growth opportunities into clear hypotheses, analytical plans, opportunity sizing, and recommendations • Build decision-ready investment cases that connect Community strategy, Product strategy, resource needs, expected impact, tradeoffs, and risks • Establish metrics and measurement frameworks for growth initiatives, independently explore data, and partner with Data Science on Reddit's data architecture and deeper analyses • Create a clear rhythm of business through portfolio prioritization, business reviews, progress reporting, and concise narratives about results and learnings • Lead cross-functional initiatives from problem definition through execution, measurement, and iteration with Community, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Data Science, and Finance • Serve as a thought partner to Community Growth leaders and senior stakeholders by challenging assumptions, surfacing tradeoffs, and aligning teams around the path forward • Manage and develop a small team of analysts and strategists, with the opportunity to scale the function as its mandate grows Who You Are • 8+ years of experience in community growth, community marketing, strategy and operations, product strategy, business analytics, management consulting, or a related field, including work on a consumer product or platform • A track record of sizing opportunities, building investment cases, and translating analysis into prioritization decisions and measurable outcomes • Strong analytical fluency, including advanced spreadsheet modeling and a working knowledge of SQL; you can perform hands-on analysis, interrogate imperfect data, and partner effectively with Data Science • Experience defining KPIs and measurement frameworks and applying experimentation or other rigorous evaluation approaches • Demonstrated experience managing and developing people while remaining willing to contribute directly • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to turn complex inputs into clear, decision-ready narratives for senior leaders • A proven ability to create structure in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and influence cross-functional partners without relying on direct authority • Experience in a management consulting, chief of staff, business operations, or growth strategy role that combined structured problem solving with hands-on execution • Experience in both a scaled consumer organization and a startup or scale-up environment • Experience with product-led, ecosystem, or community growth Benefits: • Comprehensive Healthcare Benefits and Income Replacement Programs • 401k with Employer Match • Global Benefit programs that fit your lifestyle, from workspace to professional development to caregiving support • Family Planning Support • Gender-Affirming Care • Mental Health & Coaching Benefits • Flexible Vacation & Paid Volunteer Time Off • Generous Paid Parental Leave Pay Transparency: This job posting may span more than one career level. In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. Additionally, Reddit offers a wide range of benefits to U.S.-based employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) program with employer match, generous time off for vacation, and parental leave. About Reddit

Reddit is an American social news aggregation, web content rating, and discussion website. Registered members submit content to the site such as links, text posts, images, and videos, which are then voted up or down by other members. Posts are organized by subject into user-created boards called "communities" or "subreddits", which cover topics such as news, politics, religion, science, movies, video games, music, books, sports, fitness, cooking, pets, and image-sharing. Submissions with more upvotes appear towards the top of their subreddit and, if they receive enough upvotes, ultimately on the site's front page. Although there are strict rules prohibiting harassment, it still occurs, and Reddit administrators moderate the communities and close or restrict them on occasion. Moderation is also conducted by community-specific moderators, who are not considered Reddit employees. As of September 2021, Reddit ranks as the 19th-most-visited website in the world and 7th most-visited website in the U.S., according to Alexa Internet. About 42–49.3% of its user base comes from the United States, followed by the United Kingdom at 7.9–8.2% and Canada at 5.2–7.8%. Twenty-two percent of U.S. adults aged 18 to 29 years, and 14 percent of U.S. adults aged 30 to 49 years, regularly use Reddit. Reddit was founded by University of Virginia roommates Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian, with Aaron Swartz, in 2005. Condé Nast Publications acquired the site in October 2006. In 2011, Reddit became an independent subsidiary of Condé Nast's parent company, Advance Publications. In October 2014, Reddit raised $50 million in a funding round led by Sam Altman and including investors Marc Andreessen, Peter Thiel, Ron Conway, Snoop Dogg, and Jared Leto. Their investment valued the company at $500 million then. In July 2017, Reddit raised $200 million for a $1.8 billion valuation, with Advance Publications remaining the majority stakeholder. In February 2019, a $300 million funding round led by Tencent brought the company's valuation to $3 billion. In August 2021, a $700 million funding round led by Fidelity Investments raised that valuation to over $10 billion.
