Mercer is seeking candidates for the following hybrid
Communication and Change Management Consultant position based in Chicago. In this role, you will develop and implement communication and change strategies that support open enrollment, benefits and compensation initiatives, policy and process changes, system implementations, and other organizational transformations.
We will count on you to:- Assist in designing and developing communication and change management strategies that deliver effective and engaging employee communications across multiple industries and support awareness, understanding, and adoption of change.
- Develop communication plans for open enrollment and other client initiatives, including benefits, compensation, policy updates, process changes, technology implementations, and organizational transitions.
- Conduct audience analysis, stakeholder mapping, and change impact assessments to inform messaging, channel strategy, timing, and delivery.
- Thrive and be motivated by an environment that embraces AI and technology-enabled tools.
- Conduct editorial reviews of communications and manage content, coordinating reviews with compliance, technical, editorial, client, and vendor stakeholders, and incorporating necessary edits.
- Perform project management duties, including developing and maintaining project plans, overseeing budgets, coordinating team activities, participating in and facilitating client meetings, managing printers, and other associated tasks.
- Partner with clients to identify risks, dependencies, gaps, and barriers to adoption in executing communication and change work plans.
- Support measurement of communication effectiveness and change adoption, including gathering feedback, tracking progress, and recommending improvements.
- Interact independently with clients regularly, answering questions and providing requested materials.
- Coordinate across workstreams to identify dependencies, gaps, and risks in executing communication strategies and work plans.
- Leverage and guide resources such as writers, graphic designers, and analysts to accomplish work and meet performance standards.
What you need to have:- Bachelor's degree in English, business, communication, journalism, human resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years' extensive experience in corporate communications and/or change management, including HR, compensation, benefits, retirement, policies, and organizational change; or 5+ years of HR/communication consulting experience in a professional services firm.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including public speaking, advanced editing, proofreading, composition, and proven technical and persuasive writing abilities.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong command of MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent deadlines.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $104,400 to $208,800.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
