Senior Manager, Commercial Technology Transformation, International Commercial Banking - Toronto, ON

Purpose:

As the Senior Manager Technology Transformation, you will contribute to the overall success of the Digital Transformation of the IB Commercial business line and drive a dedicated roadmap with partners in all 12 countries across Commercial, GRM, Operations, Data Office, and Engineering. You will oversee and support the rollout of an industry leading digital experience, and be responsible for engaging stakeholders, incorporating feedback from participants, prioritizing key features and experiences, and more. You will be responsible to partner with the external vendors or internal technology teams, other product managers, functional SME's, bank stakeholders, software engineers, and designers, to translate the user journeys into actionable, prioritized backlog deliverables and follow through to delivery. Critical to success in this role is the ability to build strong relationships with partners (both internal and external) and lead large-scale, multi-faceted programs. This role ensures all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

What You'll Do:
  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Leader in agile product management to prioritize effectively and manage inter-dependencies across key scrum teams
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and our external consulting partner to define and drive the strategic roadmap of initiatives, identifying key opportunities and potential risks. Responsible for establishing and managing integrated plans in collaboration with the project delivery team.
  • Support and facilitate process transformation sessions to challenge the norm and form target state digital processes driven by strategic changes and performance improvements across an organization, encompassing people, process, and technology
  • Prioritize and manage a dedicated backlog with partners across Commercial, Engineering and Operations Partners to ensure user experience across client segments that is logical, engaging, and accessible by engaging day to day with the scrum teams, clarifying questions and helping with decision making
  • Implement robust project management methodologies and processes to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring successful project delivery, while escalating critical issues and driving decision-making and accountability by supporting cross-functional executive and senior management forums to align opportunities, challenges and required actions
  • Uses data to drive decisions, building hypotheses, testing and iterating, including planning for the right incorporation of data and analytics strategies into roadmap
  • Plans for and considers reusability of Canada components in other markets across the Bank's International footprint
  • Monitor and ensure the quality of deliverables, adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions and 'does the right thing' to keep the Bank safe, fostering an environment where they, employees, customers, and stakeholders can speak up / raise concerns
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of your respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk

What You'll Bring:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in building customer facing digital products
  • Managed a technology product or a digital journey end to end, from inception to delivery
  • Strong understanding of the Commercial Banking business lines including policies and processes, servicing models and products
  • Ability to build trusted relationships, instill confidence and influence stakeholders
  • Experience with financial products and services in direct investing and/or wealth management
  • Master of identifying and solving ambiguous problems to drive customer and business value
  • Knowledgeable about multiple functional areas such as Product Management, Agile/Scrum, Engineering, UX/UI Design, Finance
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Curious and experimental mindset to drive innovation
  • Great verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at different levels in the organizations
  • Engineering, Computer Science or Business degrees considered an asset


Work Arrangement:
  • This position is largely an onsite role, with the expectation that you will work 3-5 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence
  • Moderate travel internationally
