Senior Manager, Commercial

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading and assisting in the development and execution of commercial strategy and priorities;
  • Playing a lead role in progressing commercial issues that arise from commercial activities and in identifying, evaluating and negotiating new commercial opportunities;
  • Supports the new Churchill River agreements;
  • Advancing existing commercial arrangements and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations;
  • Engaging and managing industry, financial and economic consultants to provide expert advice as required for development of commercial strategies, contract interpretation, commercial negotiations and litigation. Coordinate with general counsel on external counsel engagements;
  • Liaising with the Provincial government departments on matters relating to
Hydro commercial issues;
  • Preparing Leadership and Board of Director reports and briefing materials as required;
  • Monitoring and preparing analysis and reports related to energy markets (including a regular evaluation of market opportunities and regulatory and policy developments); and
  • Ensuring Hydro's inventory of commercial agreements is complete and accurate and the terms and conditions of its commercial agreements are well understood and complied with.
What You'll Need:
  • Undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering or Law from a recognized university supplemented by an MBA, CPA or equivalent professional graduate degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
  • 10-15 years of experience in the energy sector at the management level.
