GENERAL DUTIES: As the Business and Information Analyst, you will provide expertise in various functional business processes of the organization. You will facilitate the development of moderate to complex IT/OT systems and existing business processes, including the introduction of new systems through interaction with internal and external stakeholders. You will ensure the systems, processes, standards and control procedures are maintained to enhance the IT/OT systems. You will be responsible for the coordination of long-term planning and analysis for the Capital Program requirements by completing documentation such as Front End Engineering Design Alignment Documents, Basis of Estimates, and Proposals in compliance with regulatory requirements, as related to the scope, risk, and budget estimates for future capital work for both regulated and non-regulated operational technology initiatives. This will include working with business stakeholders to identify and document business requirements, and with the OT team to ensure compliance with identified requirements.
Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting Corporate IM initiatives and leading operational IM activities within Hydro, in line with the Corporate IM Program, and work as the IM point of contact between Hydro departments to ensure the IM needs are assessed and met accordingly.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: - Develop and coordinate the OT requirements for the annual capital budget.
- Supports operational initiatives through requirements gathering, estimating, stakeholder relations, and coordinating activities.
- Coordinates the continual maintenance of the OT Roadmap, with the OT Leadership Team.
- Coordinates project activities, aligning with the OT Project Manager on reporting, requirements, scheduling, resourcing, risk management and procurement activities.
- Develops technical documentation such as user guides and build guides.
- Documents processes, and identifies and recommends improvement opportunities.
- Develops test plans, completes testing and validation against business requirements, and schedules user personnel for testing participation.
- Ensures that newly implemented system features or enhancements meets user needs as documented in specifications.
- Coordinates centralized communication to the business regarding planned/unplanned outages and key communication initiatives.
- Completes evaluation of software tools, and provides recommendations to meet business requirements.
- Provides SharePoint administration and advisory services to Engineering & Technology and other Hydro departments.
- Maintains knowledge and awareness of current industry trends as well as current technologies relating to information management and business analysis.
- Serves as main point of contact for ongoing IM discussions/activities with the Corporate IM group.
- Assists with the development and facilitation of training and communications to business resources within Hydro.
- Performs other IM, BA and IT/OT duties as required including committee representation and work with interdepartmental teams.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - A university degree in Commerce or Business Administration or a certification from a 3-year recognized program. A combination of education and experience would be considered.
- At least seven (7) years of experience in industry related discipline.
- Experience in business analysis, operational technology and information management would be considered an asset.
